Regarding Ayesha not understanding Basit.... Well, why should she? They clearly don't have any kind of bond or friendship yet that she will understand his deeper emotions without him saying anything.
All she knows is Sadia left Basit when she was a child. Basit has himself told her that he doesn't believe in relationships because of his bitter childhood. She has also seen the letters and cards in his study, so she knows that there was a time when he yearned for his mother's love.
And now all she sees is that destiny has given him a second chance to reunite with his mother. He can get over the bitterness and receive the love that he craved for in the past. So, she thinks that Basit should give it a try. As someone who has grown up with a mother like Qudsia, maybe it is natural for her to keep forgiving a mother for the mistakes she makes. Hence, she also expects Basit to forgive Sadia. She doesn't know or understand the level of trauma that the guy has gone through. Precisely because Basit never shared anything with her. I don't think she even knows that he takes anti-anxiety pills.
Since she has come to this house, she has seen Sadia who constantly keeps trying to bridge the gap with his son. On the other hand, Basit is always rude and disrespectful to his mother. Furthermore, Ayesha gets love, care, attention from Sadia. Whereas, Basit doesn't give any time or importance to his wife. So obviously, she has developed a soft corner for Sadia.
Ayesha blaming Basit for Sadia's death is not far-fetched really. Even if she died due to a weak heart, it is no denying that the birthday party created a stressful situation for Sadia which could have aggravated already existing problems.
This long post was to say that Ayesha is not wrong here. But, she is definitely being very insensitive. It is clear the man is broken right now. If you cannot support him, at least do not increase his woes. Which is why I got annoyed with what Ayesha said to Fahad in the kitchen. That line of "pehle unka naam nahi sunte the, aur ab unke alawa aur koi baat hi nahi karte". Clearly, the main is grieving. The least she could do is not judge him.
Ayesha blaming Basit for the death is WRONG in every aspect, it’s like guilt tripping an already hurting son, it’s not like she never saw Basit’s side of the story, she was the first one to discover those letters, before the wedding he clearly told her how he lost trust from women as his mom abandoned him when he was 9, she has lived in the house and seen that Sadia made no such efforts to come clean with Basit, and last but not the least, their marriage was a contract to save his business, he was true to his words not like Ayesha was misled and she fell from a pinnacle to discover he’s heartless. More than Ayesha, Qudsiya seemed sensitive as atleast she told Ayesha to not create a scene of accusing Basit in front of everyone, last but not the least, Sadia was guilty, Ayesha and anyone else in the surroundings knew about it, Sadia did abandon Basit and Sadia has never blamed Basit for not accepting her, the whole point isn’t why Ayesha didn’t understand Basit, the whole point was she behaved unnaturally and was extremely insensitive at her behavior, I’ve never seen a new daughter in law who hardly had a month in that house is behaving like her husband killed her mom in law, despite knowing the way he’s being troubled all his life 🤪🤣
Bad writing there, and I’m not surprised because hardly we ever get well written female leads, I’m surprised they took this long to put Ayesha in such an unlikable scenario, whole Twitter is complaining about it, and Twitter has mass reviews, the majority understands that they have screwed this up. If Basit was insensitive, I would understand given the coldness comes innate to his upbringing but no, we are talking about Ayesha who’s supposed to be filled with affection and mature and understand things better than Basit, seems like Basit understands her family issues better than she ever did, her family is 5 idiots while Basit had only one member and they still screwed it up, Pakistani writers 🤪
@ste. Basit was amazing in that scene..
Infact it made me think why all this? There r children who lose their parents at an early age due to accident or any xyz reason...I need answers ..why wasn't his father there for him when he was a child ? Why didn't his mom come to see him ? Why didn't she call him? Why didn't his father try to explain why they separated and how it's not completely sadias fault ? Why did she leave Firstly and does she have another family ? If they don't clear it, leave it open ended , I won't be a big fan of this screenplay .
It's ironic...on one hand basit is yearning for his mother's love and ayesha has a mother who nobody would want 🤣
I think Sadia or Salman never addressed about why she cut off from Basit because she actually thought she’d be better off without him, that’s why Basit’s continuous suffering and taunts did make her guilty, because she knew he’s right. As she died now, without any explanation, seems like she had none for him? Otherwise even before the birthday party she had many incidents to give him a closure but no, all she did is try to be a good mommy forcing him to marry 😎🤣
Yaar Charu, ye show dekh ke I feel thankful that Allah ne mujhe Basit ke baap maa jaise parents nahi dite, god forbids, imagine you have sanki and selfish parents and the only solution they’ve for everything is marriage 🤪🤣, typical brown parent behavior. Qudsiya atleast cares about luxury but Basit ki parents behaved like sadak se kisiko bhi je shoukd marry, but just marry 😆
I’m glad they had only one child, imagine being this crazy and producing another tainted kid like Basit, double shaadi, double masti in heaven for both 😆
Funny thing is they both died leaving Basit with more guilt and trauma, and he’s expected to be dudh ja dhula huya beta
That's what ! If she doesn't know anything just keep quiet until she knows something . She heard only one side of the story, wahan bhi sadia was constantly pleading her to understand basit. Ye kuch suna madam ne ? Ya samjha hi?
As if basit knew when he will come to see his mom the next morning she would be dead there wasn't a simple solution to this complicated matter between mother and son. Sadia pleaded guilty, she was guilty, she never blamed basit so why should Ayesha blame him
Because according to Ayesha, his mother tried to sort out the difference between them but basit didn't even reciprocate

Well put ❤️... I think Habs is one of the most sensitively written and thought out dramas I have seen in a while. It looks at each character from the perspective of that character and Crafts behaviour accordingly..I love the part where you wrote that Ayesha is used to forgiving her parent's mistakes.
But also the fact that Habs is so sensitive to each character's own particular journey, as viewers we can see matters from multiple perspectives where no one is completely wrong or right.
Also one thing that hits deep and slashed through my mind was when Ayesha tells Basit that ‘she loves you’ and he replies ‘But I don’t feel the love’.. Boy Feroze was terrific, and that was absolutely the best thing I could see coming out from Basit, the boy is so damaged that even if Sadia would try for a million years, the love she had for him never reached his heart, her abandonment tainted him completely, every time he’d go near her, he would either see hypocrisy or the failure to be a child worth of love and importance, he clearly says I don’t know whether my baba or mumma was at fault, but I clearly am damaged.
So after all this conversation, I do expect Ayesha to atleast know that Basit isn’t heartless, if he’d be then he wouldn’t have shared all this with Ayesha, but yeah now it’s done, whatever he said it shared with her about his insecurities till now has become a reason to be mocked at his mom’s funeral.
I think I’ve never seen a more genuine reaction than Basit telling Ayesha that ‘your taunts are making my heart bleed, and I can’t sit through it’, imagine at your mom’s funeral you’ve tell your spouse that please shut up because I’m on the verge of collapse as you’re guilt tripping me continuously.
Well, I guess the show will proceed like this, Ayesha being aloof to Basit’s insecurities leading him to go all crazy mad doubting her. Whatever happens, make Basit happy, whichever way it’s, please writer please 😭
Feroze chosen as the best actor of the week, and he’s chosen mostly every week but I am sharing this one because this performance has jolted me to another level, I was literally in tears at Basit’s breakdown.
