It happens in Indian dramas too. They start with a story for 3 months, then keep changing it for 10 yrs. 😆 At least Pakistani dramas have a finite number of episodes..
About actors talking to walls.. I noticed it in many dramas and it spoils the situation. It is important for the actor to feel the situation and interact with his coactors to give a good performance.
Yes. Pakistani channels produce many dramas every year.. they can't provide good quality with all those dramas.. so many of them are just to fill the slots. Surprisingly those stupid dramas get more TRPs.🤣
Itv is serials and it goes on for ages and characters can even turn into makhi out of the blue🤣. We watch it with no expectations and they make it with no expectations. Its like gambling. Will come up with a show and if it gets good trp they will keep running it and if it don't grab the attention in 3-4 months it will go offair. Its a lost course and nobody cares what's shown on ITV as long as the leads with good chemistry keep serving hot romantic scenes. 🤣
Actors talking to the wall has been done in itv for decades. Since itv is shot on a daily basis it's understandable if one actor is on leave and won't be able to make it. But don't know why pak dramas are following that since pak dramas are limited series with most of them being pre produced. It don't happen in Asian dramas which are also finite series with 16-20 episodes. In afia's post it's said that actors won't even participate even if they are in the set. They will be sitting in their makeup room. Don't know why directors let that happen.
I guess more than budget it has to do with how the production house and director manages and organize it. Its not like they have to pay less if that actor don't stand there for that scene. He or she will have to do that particular scene even in a solo shot anyway and they are already on set. If i am not wrong they are paid per day and not per scenes they shoot. So if a director says they have to be on that scene if they are on set the actors are bound to do so. Also the managing of the dates by the actors might be messy as well. In Usama's iv he said even if the call time is 9 or 10 they start shooting atleast 2-3 hours late than the call time and if everything is based in Lahore then it gets more late than that. It shows everything is not organised or planned accordingly. Also even if the actors are doing multiple projects the director won't be doing it as he has to be on set even for minor character scenes. So a director will be working on a single project at a time. He should be more dedicated to the work and the channel or production has nothing to do with the director not having an idea about the character sketch of his own show. It shows lack of dedication and professionalism from the director.
