Just like Katrina’s accent doesn’t sound 100% Indian neither does Priyanka’s American accent but both have been impacted by their experiences. Saying accents can’t change or adapt due to surroundings isn't true.

That’s the whole point. Her accent change isn’t a natural progression of time. She’s had speech and language coaches and worked on sounding American. People can debate on whether she was right or wrong to do so and whether it will help her career or not. But that still makes her inauthentic (putting it mildly) or fake and pretentious (putting it bluntly).

I’ve always read different stories of her time in America so I don’t even know how long she was or wasn’t here.

She has options as an Indian, Latina, and Middle Eastern and having an accent won’t get in her way in those cases.

Her new accent and full on Americanized persona has more to do with her being a full on influencer now. She wants to market her brand to the average rich white woman and thinks her authentic self won’t make her relatable I guess.

she can pull off an African American over a Middle Eastern anyday..she does not look Middle Eastern from any angle at all..katrina looks more Middle Eastern..PC can pull off an African American coz she has similar features/face structure..the nose, lips, jaw area..I am surprised why hasn't anyone offered that part yet..she can be someone like Charlie..Ross's hot girlfriend from friends..she has that exotic look!! she should capitalize on that..

regardless.. she tries too hard..way too hard sometimes and that is highly off putting

Who says you can't adapt local accent over time. This American woman defies that theory. She married a bihari in her much old age.

Priyanka’s also an actress - she had a Marathi accent for some roles, probably had some coaching there too. It’s not natural but that’s her job. There’s nothing wrong with getting a language coach for a role where she’s supposed to play an American born Indian. She played that role for 3 years, of course it will effect her accent in real life too. Like I said, her accent has changed over the years due to her experiences… doesn’t make it inauthentic or pretentious IMO.

Priyanka was in the US during grade 8 to 11, four years. People have always had a problem with her accent. Even had to train to get rid of it for Miss India and Miss World because they teach them British English. So her accent has always been a little different, not typical Indian accent everyone for some reason wants her to have. You can’t compare her with other people, her experiences have been too different.

Satyajit Ray was educated in British India. That was his accent. PC's accent changed, and she comes across as try hard.
