Context matters. If someone threw popcorn at me while watching a movie, maybe I'd consider that they are being playful/flirty and I'd throw it back.

But if you were to randomly come up to me on a street or at a party and throw popcorn in my face, I'd b*tch slap the hell out of you then and there.
