Anurag Kashyap does not wants Kashmir Files as Oscar entry

RRR is worth more than an Oscar 😆

I dont think Kashmir files should be picked, RRR should be, I loved it personally but more importantly it has tremendous buzz organically among americans so has a great chance.

But what irks me the contempt that these so called arty intellectuals have against what they think are right or mass masala movies which do not agree with their ideology.

He speaks very condescendingly of RRR though (calls it mindless) though he is honest enough to admit it has great buzz

and why because he went to venice film festival, europe and US and they are calling it great.

they were contemptous when common audience liked that movie but now it is ok

whether you like its stand or not Kashmir files was a hard hitting movie, well written and made in docu style and resonated with the audience

so many years we have seen NFDC and govt sponsored arty intellectual movies which propogated the left socialist ideology, DD only used to show these (benegal, mrinal sen, prakash jha, adoor gopalakrishnan so many ). all awards were cornered by them (shabana azmi, om puri, naseeruddin shah etc). some of them are great movies and had great artists but there is no denying their politics.

how come these ppl did not have a problem with politics of those movies.

what is irking neutral ppl is these so called intellectuals think that audience are idiots and these ppl will dictate good taste to them based on their own likes.

Kashmir Files does not need an Oscar. The film is much beyond this.

And the west, will never support India with respect to Kashmir.

Kashmir is India, and the western world dont want to acknowledge that and the genocide and exodus which happened there.

The audience has already given the award to the film.

I think RRR has a greater chance than TKF to be nominated.

Anurag ke pictures ka apan fan hai.. lekin jabse KJo ke sanghat mein gayela hai ekdum pathbhrashta ho gayelay. Lagta hai usnehich in English intellectuals se friendship karaylay uska.

RRR has great chances. And I loved the movie. Bheem is super popular here.

Ideally, TKF should get nominated. West should know about KP genocide too. But aah well.

Is RRR really that popular in the West as is being claimed?

No one is going to send Dobara to the Oscars. So, chill.

TKF is a very hard hitting film made more on the lines of a documentary style film making. An indie kind of film that had zero song dance kind of bollywood movie. The fact it became such a big hit shows that indie films that keep you hooked will do well.

RRR is not a great film but it has great songs, a bond of friendship and some very hard hitting emotions. The film is flawed in many ways but it keeps you hooked, plus there is great buzz because of Netflix in the US Europe market.
