Laal Singh Chaddha Extended Five Day Weekend Business

Laal Singh Chaddha has finished its extended weekend at around 46 crore nett as collections dropped on the big holiday for Independence Day. the film in five days has done less business than what Thugs Of Hindostan did in the first day and that pretty much tells the story of this. On top this was a holiday period and the film was unable to collect.

The film is heading for a big fall post the holiday period as the rejection is crystal clear form the collections. There is this boycott theory doing the round in the industry but the rejection is due to content. The boycott may have kept some of the potential audience away but not in numbers to affect the actual fate of the film. If the film was good then it would have risen far above this sort of thing.

There is no hope for the film from here and its just about where it goes in its first week and can it even reach 75 crore nett in the long run. The extended five day weekend numbers for Laal Singh Chaddha are as follows.

Thursday - 11,50,00,000 apprx

Friday - 7,25,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 8,75,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 10,25,00,000 apprx

Monday - 8,25,00,000 apprx

It's the length. The length of the film is the biggest problem and I agree the Muhammad paaji parts were drawn out. Since they elongated the childhood, they should have cut out the adult potions a bit or shortened the childhood ones because of the length.

That Mohammad paaji part was too messed up. I would still say they shouldn't have shown him as a Pak militant. It didn't make any sense how he lived in India, earned billions and nobody could find out he was actually a terrorist. They should have shown him as an Indian army officer instead.

Though that Malaria dialogue was misquoted and misunderstood a lot that dialogue was not necessary at all. Maybe the censor board should have edited out that scene. I mean why would someone ask the other why you're not praying to God? It's completely an individual choice.

The second half was indeed boring and I felt the movie focused more on Laal than Rupa. Her struggles with that underworld don were hardly shown post interval. She was given importance only after coming back to Laal.

It says "In the last ten years, Aamir Khan has not charged a single rupee as his fee, which also includes his latest, 'Laal Singh Chaddha'.

So if he doesn’t accept fees, does he get the distribution rights to some centers or a cut in the profit like some HW actors do?
