He should be ashamed that he did not investigate the attack on sai at all, and that without his knowledge or involvement the case was investigated and solved. It shows him to be an incapable, unreliable and irresponsible police officer whose doctor wife is far more of a capable police officer than him.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. This seemed like a lollypop episode/dream sequence JUST to quell audience and rope them in for a few episodes in anticipation. I think the ML refused to take up dialogues where he's shown investigating against his wife.

So they made Sai say everything against her.
