In this entire show, there are two things that are praise-worthy. The first is Danish Taimoor’s performance. He is intense, passionate and absolutely insane and that shines through with his performance. He does not break character even once and even when he’s mourning Mehak’s death, you can see that this feels like a personal loss to him, a personal failure. He was unable to “get” Mehak when he wanted her – and now that she’s alive, it’s back to square one. It’s genuinely a brilliant performance. The second thing that’s commendable is that the narrative hasn’t, even once, allowed us to sympathize for Shamsher. Shamsher is bad. This is shown even in his interactions with his Bhabi’s sister. He is heartless, even when heartbroken. This is a solid story on harassment, stalking and the abuse of power.

Its not the audience's fault that Danish is so bloody good in every role! There's a reason why we fall for all his characters. If makers did not want us to sympathise with Shamsher they should have gotten a better actress.

For example in Ab Dekh Khuda Kya Karta Hai, not once do you support Jaan-e-Alam. We all are on Mariam's team. But there too...Danish was so bloody good that when Alam kills himself you do get mixed feelings.

at bold, this is what it all comes down to. The writer should make sure the characters are written well. The director should leave no loop holes. And the female lead should be a good actress. If this is taken care of the audience will also hate the villain just like they should. But if these guys dont do their job well and just depend on the male lead to carry the show with his charisma, thats when you know whats gonna happen next with the audience, ki which direction they will be swayed in

U know if the actors are good no one notices tiny loopholes.

But Ab Dekh Khuda was very tightly wound. Its honestly one of the best shows made. You gotta watch it.

Like there's one scene in Alam's office where Alam has given Mariam an ultimatum that by the end of the day either return my money or go sleep with the minister...she's crying alone in her office cabin whereas Alam walks out coolly and you see him touching another female employee on the shoulder and walking away while the girl smiles...its hardly there for a fraction but ye samajh aa jaata hai ki he's now eyeing his next target because he needs to sleep around too. It was such a subtle detail but it hits you when you see it.

If DurE would have been even thoda aur better na, there would have been a tug of war for supporters.

Same thing happened in Deewangi also. Everyone was Team Sultan. But Deewangi walon ne itne loopholes nahi kiye they.
