Why are we hating on Raj of all people?

He delivers with every opportunity he gets, not his fault that the "good" projects are bagged by all the nepo actors, so they have to work with the kind of projects that are left. And, he has never dissapointed in terms of performance so why should he not get the deserved opportunities? It's sad that even these previledged nepo stars has brigade defending them online & trying to demean others struggle & hard earned recognition. Do better.

This!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How talent has to do with hit and flops. The guy worked hard, did cameos to supporting roles to lead ones. And he can act, one of the best or rather the best in this generation. Even Irrfan Khan didn't give many hits, but still kept getting movies, so it doesn't mean he was privileged, he got the tribute from all over the world for his acting! Because your craft remains in the end not the quantity of hits and flops. He got appreciation for acting skills. And when talentless Ananya pandey can get films, arjun kapoor can get films, why people create a huge ruckus over a talented outsider actor getting films after the flops. I am appalled!!

People really need to look into the dictionary to see the right meaning of privilege.

Yeah I am really surprised at this thread

The dude can act, has done so many good movies and definitely comes across as humble off screen. The hate here seems ridiculous

He gets movies because he has talent and acts well in the roles that he gets. Jis bhi movie mein hota hai, uss movie ki best performance deta hai. Baaki movies toh sabki flop hoti hain. Atleast his movies are low to mid budget and do not incur massive losses

I think the fact that he has so many flops and has still survived is a testament to his talent.

Tell Alia, Varun, Arjun or Janhvi to give 10 flops in a row and let me know if people are still interested in them. These people give one flop and people write them off completely. Only “real” talent can sustain itself

The majority of his films are not commercialised, high-budget productions, but they are nonetheless well received by the audience. Had he delivered blockbuster flops for the greater part of his career while still being referred to as a superstar, he may have been labelled as a privileged man.

He worked very hard for his position as a leading actor, thus the word "privileged" isn't appropriate for him.

Additionally, I believe that the fact that he is still working speaks highly of his credibility; in contrast to Parineeti, who made poor decisions & is no longer very relevant.

@I - Ironically despite delivering flops, these people will still have high chances of getting casted in high-budget films .

Consider Ranbir, who began his career with SLB flop film and has continued to deliver numerous disasters yet still gets casted in 150+ crore films.

Outsiders, do not get many opportunities to be lead actors, and when they do, the scope is quite limited, making it difficult for them to thrive.

If the argument is that Raj is getting offered movies despite not delivering BO hits due to privilege, then it is an incomplete argument. Based on what privilege is he getting these roles? Is it due to financial privilege where his family is funding the films?? Or other privileges accorded as a result of being born into a well-connected family from within the industry??

Getting films despite not having BO success is not privilege. Rather, privilege maybe be a reason you are getting them in the first place. If Raj is getting films due to his talent, then that is not the definition of privilege. It is something he has honed through his hard work over the years. If he is getting it due to the relationships he has built within the industry and with certain filmmakers, then again that isn't privilege. That was also through his hard work over the years. Everything was earned. Nothing was inherited.
