DDLJ to be remade with white male lead - Page 3

At the begining DDLJ was written with a white male lead in mind. Adi Chopra wanted Tom Cruise for the part but it did not work out so they changed the part to Indian.

Then how is it a remake???

Frankly don't know about this 😒 SRK-Kajol were the USP of DDLJ....it's nice to see a BW being adapted on Broadway but don't know where they are going with this.

KJo must be gearing up with a KKHH musical pitch soon. Noway is he going to let Aditya Chopra set a trend and not jump on the bandwagon.

And I understand them replacing Raj's character with a non-Indian guy. How are you going to make an NRI father not wanting an NRI damaad in 2022 relatable?

Maybe that's the reason to take a white guy to make Simran's father's reaction more relatable for modern thinking. The issue would now be about Simran falling in love with a non-Indian and her father wanting an Indian as son-in-law...

Nevertheless I wonder whose idea it was to put this musical on stage...in USA...

First half of DDLJ is unbearable with Sharukh’s incessant hamming. In the remake they hopefully will take care of it.🙏

Two kinds of movies should not be remade imo

Some movies are so great or unique, they should be left alone like Forrest Gump for example...

Some are so bad that they should be left alone, never subject viewers to that torture again
