"This may rile people, but I’ve often thought this was an accurate analogy.
Japan = England. Still has the whiff of colonial arrogance. Still really regretting that it lost its empire, not the blood it took in acquiring one. A culture with outward respectability and politeness, but in private conduct a taste for po*n and violence.
China = USA. We are the only country which exists in the world. What? There are more? International rules only apply to others. Everything must be big. The bigger the better. And cheaper. And louder.
Korea = Ireland. Likes to drink and sing. Passionate, down to earth. Divided by external powers. How we have suffered because of foreign oppressors. Suffered, suffered, suffered. Oh-h-h-h, how we have suffered."
