I was watching Rituraj’s earlier clips from the Malayalam show as suggested by elizamerin

As we mentioned in that post, the judges analyse in detail - around 15 mnts on each performance.

Rituraj had sung an iconic old song of yesudas, which is sung in many shows. Rituraj rendered it so beautifully sans any unnecessary mukhras ( or sangathees as is called in Carnatic music). This was pointed out by the judges. Others, esp those who have leant Carnatic music, add on their own sangathees & in the process give a different take on the song than what is intended by the composer. This kid - he was all of 6 at that time - gave a performance that was a lesson to many. 👍💕

Regarding the screeching/ shrieking part - this is a new trend encouraged by the judges like Anu malik.. 😡. Instead of pointing it out, Hemant Brijwasi, Salman, Sunny, Danish Sawai Bhatt etc are all made to feel that the more they screech the more talent they exhibit. 🙄 Now Mani & Soyab are getting groomed likewise. 😔
