RK is living in a bubble..whining over his past image and blaming others for it when his dad was so proud of it,talking about haters. This is not how stars give interviews.

His performances in the two film promo materials shown so far has left most unimpressed. So this is the wrong time to claim that he will be around for a long time..and say that some other actor(s) are stupid.

KWK ,Kjo and Alia have not made it any easier for him. They all sound so entitled and insecure..that it's difficult to watch.

Is he playing a father in Shamshera?

Now he is going on Mika ki Shaadi thing. Waha jake apni shaadi ka dhol peetega promotion ke naam pe.

they should invite KJo too, he will diss Mika and suggest him how he should look upto AlooBir while choosing partner and the decor and do a balcony wedding😆

"Yeah, I think every actor eventually finds their own method. Uh. It's not intellectual as such. It just makes the work easy. I always say this my method is very basic it is getting to know the director, the writer, what he's written, the meaning of the script or the words, and then you go along the way. You just have to be present. You have to be convinced. You have to be alive. You have to work very hard. You have to somewhere surrender yourself to the entire experience. And apart from that, there are a lot of intellectual things a lot of actors do you know like which gets them closer to the character uh but thats all stupid we are not saving the world we are just acting. Usually, method actors take themselves too seriously. And making a movie is not about you. It's about the movie. So just be a part. Be a small piece required to make the larger piece which is the film. I think that is the most important."

Finally transcribed it.

Bold - This seems very similar to method acting to me. Especially the bit called surrendering to the entire experience. He's acknowledging that actors need to make an effort to truly understand the character.

Underline - This is true to me. A movie is made possible by many talented people coming together to create an experience. Even the best performer cannot shine under shitty script and direction. Not even the best script can make a shit actor look good. It always irks me when success is centered around a singular star rather than collective effort.

Red italics - the one throwaway snarky line in an otherwise thoughtful soundbite that I do agree with. He could have made his point without name-calling others or saving the world hyperbole. This is where he lost people. Instead of making his point he got people to zero in on his diss.

I am willing to overlook it because it is not always easy to express your thoughts clearly on the fly. And Ranbir (like his dad) has his mouth move faster than the brain. I think the reason he rubs people the wrong way is that he wants to sound and be perceived as smart. Rishi on the other hand didn't care if people perceived him as a motor mouth or a drunk. Ranbir would be more likable if he was self-aware of his flaws and owned them.

Yahi to dusro ke acting process ko stupid bolna is not required, what you do for yourself what works for you is important

Ranbir has started sounding like Sonakshi. Cried over awards ignoring her Lootera performance then dissed those award winning acting type movies.

RK should have worked harder.Like I said he can't do roles his juniors are doing today. It is painfully clear to all.In Alia's case, she can't do any roles her seniors did ..not even Katrina's..specially not Katrina.

People are going to be hard on them.Kjo is getting desperate.Aloo and RK sound insecure ,throwing shade .Kjo doesn't have many big stars working for him. Most don't want to work for Dharma,as now he makes small films..and others won't get a chance. So where will he and his nepokids get support from.

P.S. By Juniors,I meant Vicky,Ranveer,Sushant,Rajkummar,Ayushmann..

firstly, I find connecting method acting with "not making the movies about you and being a part" illlogical,

making it my, me, myself by any actor has zero correlation with the actors approach to the role and completely about their ego

an akshay has definetly not considered anything method and may still have talked and thought only about himself

bb2 was all about KA and I think he followed no method there

in fact I would argue that an actor who somewhat approaches a role methodically is thinking about the movie, what is method, in simple words it is just a process where you absorb the character, try to change your body language, accent, try to become that character and you are obviously doing this for the movie not for just yourself, yes a corollary is the acclaim you may get as an actor

now there are cases where actors have carried it too far (joker) and in india too south indian great savitri (mahanati biopic) became depressed after some heavy roles ( like chivariki migiledi, made also in hindi as khamoshi with waheeda and rajesh khanna) and friends asked her not to be so invested.

each actor finds their balance but historical, mythological, those with certain accents need effort, you can't get up one day and do it

which is why serious filmakers do a lot of workshops, build the world and get the actors accoustommed to it before even shooting begins

rajamouli was mentinong that they write everything about the character, things like sexual preferences which may not even be mentioned in the movies and give it to the actors

I am sure shoojit, balki, slb all put thought

whether the movies flopped or not, no denying ranveer nailed 83, khilji and jayesh because of this effort

i think he has the balance and his crazy behaviour off screen seems like he dissociates as required
