Ye tv serial wale FLs ko indian wear pehna ke ye dikhaana chahte hai that its so real leken reality mein aisa bilkul nahi hota. Saari ladkiyaan sabhi tarah ke kapde pehenti hai toh hindi tv kyun sirf typical indian wear pehenne wali FLs hi promote karte hai. Like for example look at Imlie's clothes ? Uski age ki itni aurtein ghar pe aisi gaudy saariyaan pehenke ghumti hai. Arey yaar even yahaan humare bengali shows mein bhi aajkal FLs salwar kameez pehenne lagi hai shaadi ke baad.

I agree FLs has a choice to wear in what they are comfortable ? But aisa kya kabhi possible hai ki sabhi FLs ka ek hi dress type hoga ?

Sayi ke costume se bhi problem nhi consodering she is from rural area, neither i have problem with PS costume team.

Did I say anywhere western matlab chhote kapde hi? I said casuals jiska matlab t-shirt aur track pants bhi hota hai. Ya fir shirt and trouser. I know she is comfortable and no one is forcing her. Humaare yaha Maharashtra me bhi majority log male in-laws ke saamne chhote kapde nahi pehente par baahar pehente hai.

But my main point is saare shows me dikhaate hi kyun hai aisa? Why can't a serial show a woman comfortably wearing casuals at home(not short but knee length or full leg) normally? Sorry to again involve a show I like but remember Bhabhiji ki 1st Anita jo sab pehenti thi- sarees, churidaar, jeans, casuals even when her in-laws were there but she never wore short clothes in front of them except any events. Even YRKKH ki Naira wore all kinds of clothes.

From the discussion of today, I want to draw out some points.

1. Instead of always putting it into viewers head log soch se modern hona chaahiye kyunki western kapdonwali ki bhi soch chhoti aur gandi hoti hai? Haven't we seen this proved millions of times? Why can't we expect FLs to be modern in her thinking and even her outer appearance? Seeing FLs wearing latest fashion clothes even at in-laws may be not in high percentage but it does happens even though it's only causals like t-shirt and jeans or full length nighty. Why can't they show this instead of always giving soch se modern excuse?

2. Imlie may be wearing sarees as she is comfortable but why we are not shown any serial where a girl who wore only conservative clothes in her small town starts wearing trendy clothes after coming to big city for study or job without being painted as bad or someone insulting culture? She will wear them just because she wanted to wear them all her life but could not and this continues even after marriage too. But they show this only on evil women as good girls are not supposed to change her clothing style as per their logic. In this thread, once Jasmine said that her one friend was never allowed western clothes but after marriage she drastically transformed to wearing micro minis with her husband giving her freedom to wear what she wants. Why sanskaari girl becomes modern only to take revenge not on normal days?

3. Why in big metro cities the FLs are always shown in sarees or churidaars even though sleeveless sarees evn after coming from a middle-class or rich family be or before or after marriage? This is shown in YHC, KKB, KDB, IMMJ all three seasons and several other shows. Why can't they be shown dressed like Monisha after marriage? Western clothes without heavy jewelleries.

To problem inn sab cheezon ke vajah se hoti hai show dekhte waqt. TV serials are not ready to look from these points but only make soch se modern excuse or choice of clothes excuse. Ek hadd vo cheezein accept karne ko problem nahi hoti but if it keeps on proving same thing in every other shows to problem hoti hai.
