What’s wrong with Abhimanyu’s hand??

In the fire incident we saw that Because of controlling the pillar weight on his single hand , his wrist is damaged. But till what extent they are not revealing. I’m not in a medical profession, but i know few basic things that if it’s a fracture the swelling develops immediately and there will be an unbearable pain. If it’s just a twist, the swelling subsides in few days. But here in the show, they first showed that he is feeling pained, later he is loosing the grip and now he is not even able to eat with his fingers. Anything like nerve damage which is leading to a paralytic hand?? What’s wrong??
