Balh 1 was amazing. Har cheez ko properly dikhaya gaya tha. They were not jumping from one drama to other. The story of balh1 was like a breeze. Har cheez ko ache se dikhaya tha. Sab cheez ka closure dia tha har ek choti se choti cheez ka, for eg, when Priya got to know that Anjaan was Rajat. Balh1 has a breeze like storytelling (I hope I make sense). Because of this I can exactly tell ki iss episode main yeh hua tha uss episode main vo hua tha.

Balh2 is a big con. It displayed a great facade and then abruptly revealed the ugly construction behind it. But the facade was so attractive, many are still fascinated by it, some are hoping the ugly side can be renovated to resemble the face, and some are happy enough because gazing at the construction crew (read the actors they like) is enough.
I don't remember much but early episodes and certain highlights of balh1, because I stopped watching and would just check the forum and see random episodes. I think that because of the trauma balh2 caused, many remember balh1 as being good, but it certainly had its share of indigestible stuff. What they did right was not spoiling the leads' relationship to the extent this has. We all know that eventually Ram and Priya will get back together in balh2, but the problem is that overcoming so many years of bitterness, the huge issues between them, and their inability to depend on each other will be ignored and some lovey-dovey mush will be used to wind it up.
Agree. When I saw the accident BTS, I was like, 'Eh? Where did this come from?' I was mostly watching BTS by then, and it was only when I went back later and watched a few of the pre-accident episodes that I could see the signs that Ram was smitten. But the flow was not good. The 'I love you' still seemed abrupt. Priya's confession actually embarrassed me, because it seemed so misplaced and unlike her.
The consummation was again out of place. Priya was crying and all, he asks her to go with him, and bang, suddenly the mood is quite different. No proper transition. The sequence itself was mostly well done, and I had no problem with the lack of confession. Not everything needs to be said.
The consummation in balh1 caused a backlash maiyya will never forget. Indian audiences were not prepared for INDIAN actors being even halfway bold.
Balh2 started to lose it sometime after holi. Very soon after. Original Priya died, things happened haphazardly, obviously because the goal was this. Get the I Love Yous and consummation out of the way to set the stage for the ugliest leap ever.
I wonder if DP and NM are really enjoying this wreck. But whatever, they're actually maiyya's trump cards.
