He did not have the strength and the conviction to fight it out with her narrative against that of his devious step mother who did not want to set eyes on Priya. She repeatedly kept telling Ram 'Is ladki ko meri/hamari zindagi main wapas nahin aane dena' Weighed down by the reality of his father's dealth plus the guilt of SHivi's death and the fact that his step family did not want to have anything to do with the Soods or Priya, her lie just seemed like an escape at the time. But his life spiralled down a shit hole of desolation, loneliness and resentment which he hid behind the casanova facade. Till that day when he saw saw her and Pihu with Krish and all the walls came crumbling down.

Irrespective of the cliche, contrived plot and the terrible writing, directing and overboard characterisations etc in the show...a man going through this trauma is very much plausible...at the hands of a better writer and director even this narrative could have been brought out well...the actors are still doing a great job but they can't make up for the shoddy job by the rest of the team.

P.S. My comments in blue. I just jumped in the EDT discussion because I totally resonate with how you view Ram and there are not many posts outside doing that :))

Well i feel the same that taking priya on her words that time was the most easy way out for him otherwise his guilt of putting himself above his family would have basically made him feel dead inside.

And the manipulation and security he is used to from a very young age was a very big defining factor for his decisions no doubt in that.

And i do feel no matter the script or direction, nakuul and disha always gives better than expected. And ram confronting Krish before leap didnot had any conviction to it. It was more like his frustration coming out and he giving up.

@bold: well i also point out Ram's mistakes but can't oversee his trauma as well. Both of these characters are way too flawed but i have always like how nakuul portrays ram and thats why i sometimes feel like defending him and putting forward his thoughts and actions.

When we feel for one character it's very easy to oversee the other character.

Even in the truck scene , I just saw the part were he stops the truck..

How did he know she was traveling in that particular truck?

Similar to Pri miraculously riding an auto n saving him

Ram ko samne ki cheese to dikti nahi divya drishti zaroor prapt hai..

Remember that college scene, where Ram gave Vedika a bunch of roses but Vedika insisted on getting lilies. But Priya mistakenly thinks that lilies are Ram's favorite because he insisted on buying lilies before going to Vedika and Shashi's house.

Lilies have always (so far) been a symbolism that represented Vedika. 🤭

From a logical perspective, we had already agreed that Ram is indeed not using his head 😆

Are i know that. It was just a sarcastic/ rhetorical question for this dumb*ass of an man🤪😂😂😂

@bold, you know, instead of going overboard trying to show how different Ram was after the leap by making him nasty with everyone and having 3 people holding umbrellas to shield him from the rain, it would have been better to have shown him dour and irritable, with the anger sparking when he sees Priya and then rage when he sees P with Krish.

I just found it hard to do anything but troll that umbrellas-Angiras nonsense. Go date, but why choose dimwits who obviously want your money? How does that relate to somehow revenging the betrayal?

Priya's character had it easier justifying the changes because of Pihu (not that I don't think that was nonsense too. Why should you change your likes or habits as an ode to love?). Besides og Priya was dead before the leap.

Much as I find fault with the show, I give NM and DP credit for carrying the characters so well. NM was a bit off when he returned after his surgery (far too early), but in spite of my not liking the character change, he is sooo good. So's DP. I don't like this avatar, but she has this dignity about her that forces me to tolerate it. My one wish is for her to maul someone for my satisfaction--preferably Nandu.

Exactly!! Most of the reason why people are still tolerating this nonsense IS Nakuul and disha.

I myself sometimes watch bcz of them bcz no matter the script they give their best in their job that is acting.

And we'll the script is nonsense. They don't really know how to execute anything.

All of that they are showing was discussed right here on this forum by me and some other peopleevery thing around 3-4 months ago😆 they took the idea from me but didn't know that execution is also important. 🤣

So jitna Kam bole itni writing quality ki utna kam hai. 🤪

@bold - Yeah i got that part and while illogical i understood it to some extent. Because i know it would have to be Ram rescuing Priya. But but my biggest frustration is Ram was shown walking away when Priya was still stuck in the elevator. Her sound of distress made him turn back to help her .

Like seriously if your wife the love of your life is stuck on a elevator. Your first response would be making sure she gets out alive isn't it. How could they show Ram walking away in the first place 😡😡. The writers really deserve some tomatoes thrown at them.

I have to agree the actors are doing there best with the horrible script. My heart does try to find reasons to forgive their stupidity because the actors make the character vulnerable

Oh yes! How did we miss that? 😆 Even if Ram figured out Priya was headed to Goa she could have been in a bus for all he knew. Y and how did he assume she will travel by a truck? Is it so common 🤪 how did he learn to drive a truck? He needed a driver for a car till then and now he can drive a truck. Good point on the auto part 🤣 Priya ko license kab mila auto drive karne ke liye 😆 from where did she learn it? MS toh auto driver nahi tha 😛
