see, people can always change. we have moments of being strong and moments where we are weak. moments where we are logical and moments where we are being stupid. what is missing is the transitions between those fluctuations. that is a weakness in writing. you need to have bridges to show how situations are making those characters change and react differently. when you know the drama is being extended, the writer should have used the freedom to write those bridges in elaborate detail.

Exactly. The characters don't stay true to the nature.

Shehroze didn't go back to square 1. He just became a completely different person all together šŸ˜”.

Sufi saabun's evilness is still digestible considering he is rafaqat and raeesa's son.

Naima became a naagin faster than real naagin's shapeshift to their naagin roop. she is now like a typical itv vamp with less makeup and no good clothes.

Bold: Yes, this!! Is missing ,that is why we are not able to connect with the characters totally..šŸ˜’

If mere humsafar can clearly show halza consummated their marriage without showing anything at prime time then why cannot ASA that airs at 9?

Yeah Pak dramas need improvement. Instead of following itv. They need to bring new progressive content.

I have been watching kdramas for years (and I means years) when the initial hallyu wave started. I actually think the recent set of dramas are not that amazing and lack the stickiness of the past. before, there was great story writing. even when you are rolling your eyes, you are hooked to know what will happen in the next episode. the last few years, there have been very few dramas that had that kind of quality. plus the arrival of netflix and other OTT platforms haven't helped. I feel there are too many half-baked stories. basically one-liners that got expanded into a series and the writers have no idea how to finish. but that is a story for another day. but yea, I have watched very low budget kdrams (the daily soaps and weekend dramas) and some of them were amazing. me and my mom used to watch on tv and be absolutely glued. they were either 50 eps or 150 eps and it is a complete story. so rather than budget, I would say it all boils down to writing and acting. šŸ˜€

what I find confusing is why PK dramas don't spell it out -- you have time and number of episodes to fill. why not write those bridges? 🤷

I dont know !! This is really weird. I guess, to garner TRP, they want to show every damn thing ,so bhad me jaye bridges. Or may be they think, only mindless audience watch stuff , so who cares about bridges, give them drama on superficial level 😳

I am watching on and off another soap -- zakham. I will be honest that I am so confused. I literally don't understand what any of the leads are up to. the writer refuses to connect the dots and leaves everything vague. nothing is even explained by dialogues. I haven't watched enough PK soaps but my impression is that as a viewer, I have to work harder to get what is going on. again, I am wondering if it is because of cultural differences. maybe local audience don't need briges at all and easily connect the briges and dots? 🤷

I feel rather than seriousness, they should have leaned in more into camp and straight on soap. initially I was a bit surprised by the turn in naima but looking back, the signs were already there. she was bit too bothered when wahab took revenge on rafaqat-- she felt left out and was seemed bothered.

if it was ITV, they would have amplified those scenes with lots of close ups and bang bang music šŸ˜‚... basically hit us over the top of our head. in that way, I find PK soaps at times confusing because they are so vague. maybe I am too used to ITV type in your face silliness (like two characters being in the same room but not seeing each other) that it becomes difficult for me to connect the dots. maybe it is cultural differences as well in addition to language but without a forum like this, I would have struggled to fill in some of the blanks.

with the best ITV villains (such as komalika), the audience have a love-hate relationship. they love the badass one-liners and antics but at the same disapprove. there is something both comical as well as moustache twirling. in some ways, sufiyan cracks me up like that at the moment. with naima, it is instead veering towards scary feels and alarm. that means you don't enjoy those scenes and you are not necessarily curious about what is next -- I watch a lot of crime patrol / savdaan india and what not series on youtube. basically there is a kind of campiness that draws you in despite the grim plot. that was the magic factor that wasn't enough in this drama for me.

and like others said, some more romantic scenes that show development between the couple -- I feel like some of these characters are too quick to fall in love after marriage. it happens so fast that you wonder if it is infatutation or the magic of suhagraat. 🤣... and then just as quickly dissolve into petty fights -- so much for the love potion! šŸ˜‚

This.

Why we never get to see a proper growth in ushroze's relationship? They were fighting like cat and mouse even right after the nikkah and from the next day shehroze is being super considerate of ushna and from the 3rd or 4th day he wants ruksati. Then from the 6th or 7th day started crying over not getting ruksati. It wasn't like the makers didn't had enough time. It's a daily soap with 50-60 episodes. By the 50th or 60th episode of kyy manik and nandini had a kissing scene and it's run time was just 20mins per episode. Here it is 40mins per episode. That's like 100 episodes for a itv.

I had the same problem with chupke chupke which i loved. Meenu and Faaz saw each other as brother and sister throughout their life and got used to being husband and wife right after getting married. I was really uncomfortable with feenu at the start of their relationship. They shouldn't have gone deep with the bro-sis thing at the start.

as a viewer, the fun part of watching a romance blossom in a cat-dog relationship is the inbetween stage where they are caught between attraction, a draw towards each other but at the same time there is a repel. when done right, it can extend for so many episodes and is both entertaining as well as hilarious. that confusion, that awareness, that awkwardness, the banter -- ushna and shehroze had the potential to do all of that to become a dhamaka couple. not sure why they don't write those romantic bridges.
