Some on Twitter claim it to be a masterpiece. They dissect the way the color blue permeates the film and the way the songs lend a lyrical edge to the proceedings.
They rave about Ranbir's performance and the delicate beauty of Sonam. They go on and on about how it was misunderstood by the masses.
Frankly, I don't buy into this narrative. I have seen Saawariya in the theatre and found it to be cringe and over-indulgent. I failed to appreciate the aesthetics of the film. Am I the only one?
Was it, in fact, a dull film that tries too hard?
Thoughts, please.
