It was Sayuri's day today.
She was still confused and hesitant but Kanha isn't taking No for an answer. She repeats about Saroj and Kanha rolls his eyes declaring that the Saroj topic is over and they have to go. He holds her hand and leads her to the dining hall.
Saroj has a phone call. Apparently it's regarding a Rishta for Nakul and he splutters declaring that he is still young and not ready for marriage. Saroj declares he will marry someone of her choice. Nakul says if it is his marriage, he will get to decide. (That's why I like Nakul so much. Clear baat, no bakwas.) Saroj wants Kanha to take rest today.
Unfortunately Kanha destroys her plans even by breathing for he arrives with Sayuri hand in hand. He apologizes and says to Saroj that he is taking her to college. Dhanraj, Tej and Nakul give her best wishes. Saroj is furious. She refuses to wish her.
Sayuri looks at Kanha for support and he nods at her. Then she begins her explanation. She talks about the financial issues her family faces, all the middle class problems in life that never end. Small needs that appear massive when only one person actually earns in the family. She expresses that Saroj knows how it is to live like that as she had experienced it before. For a moment Saroj's expression falters but she resumes her hateful eyes. Sayuri confesses that she cannot unsee her family's problems and for the first time talks about Kanha.
She says how he had always supported her. She calls him her guide and mentor who reminded her of her duties to her family. She is lucky for a husband who after marriage instead of taking her away from her family, managed to make his own relationships to them so that she would never be away from them. He is her Humsafar and partner jn her life's journey and it is his empowering nature that fills her wings for flight.
Kanha looks at her softly.
Kanha with the mangalsutra had made his presence in her life known to the world. But by making her wear the ID card, he had given her back her own self. She apologizes again and asks for permission. Saroj is about to refuse when Dhanraj and Tej encourage her. They give her tiffin and Nakul does her Aarti.
They are about to leave when Saroj calls Kanha and asks him if he has forgotten that she doesn't eat till her children haven't eaten. Kanha is exasperated. He rushes in and peels a banana and has it, wiping his hands on Saroj's pallu 🤣 (Yeh Kanha ka roj ka hain). He rushes to hold Sayuri's hand and they leave.
Reaching the car, Kanha announces that he is sleepy and throws the keys at Sayuri, telling her to drive. She goes to the driver's seat and sees a best wishes bouquet and a card and smiles. As they drive, Kanha keeps looking at her and wonders about his feelings which are increasingly becoming feverish.
