The acting of everyone was really good in it. Sana's expressionless face kind of went well with her character.

The only thing is i never saw any chemistry b/w Bilal and Sana and i hope they never get cast romantically with each other in any dramas.

Sana and bilal had no chemistry. Unpopular opinion but i dont find the craze behind sana, she is not as good as she is made out to be. I find her same in every drama. 😆 she is beautiful that can be the reason.

re: shehroze post/question

my last thought ---

3. falling in love with ushna has made sheroze what he was missing. think he said that she filled his life and she has no idea how important she was to him. once he had the confidence she chose him (and not sufiyan), he was all about pursuing her in his own way. he didn't feel the need to hide that he wants her or likes her or enjoys their banter. basically she filled his life with colour that had been missing -- things he did not know he needed or wanted. so it will be interesting to see what happens when he loses some of that due to naima's interference. will he fight for it?

naima also didn't expect him to fall in love or change. part of her anger may be in realizing that shehroze life had indeed been empty and as a mother she may have failed in that aspect. but she could just be jealous of all that attention as well....

He knows she loves him, he also knows he doesn’t love her, and he also knows he is doing it for his mother. But leave that all aside, even as a friend he was a bad friend. He had no obligation or hope that’s his issue, zunaisha had made herself perfectly clear. The best thing to do would have been set those expectations aside and tell her that. She was the only one trying but it wasn’t as if he didn’t know or understand.

Maybe it’s the direction but those in my opinion are two very contradictory behaviour of same person. He expects Zunaisha to wear a ring, eat with his mother, but as her friend he has not once given her any consideration.

I never felt that she was that close of a friend. basicall he tolerated her company. I think he didn't give her any consideration because it never struck his mind. he didn't have a point of reference that you have to do xyz things if you are in a relationship. there are no friends giving him suggestions on what to do. even sufiyan stalker has some normal friend with a job.what about shehroze? there is no one his age guiding him or telling him. who does he have? only naima. and she wasn't giving him pointers with zunaisha. she wasn't doing much and neither did he give much weight even if she made the suggestions. basically he didn't care about zunaish to put in the effort. it was rather mechanical -- zunaisha initially expected him to change but ran off once she realized he wasn't.

whereas with ushna, naima guided him initially and told him to love her. she just didn't think that he would love her so much...

Shehroze's lack of attention towards zunisha comes from his entitled arrogant behaviour. He never cared about anything apart from his mother and himself before ushna. He thinks he is above everyone just like his mother. He literally thought zunisha needs to bare all simply because she is the one who loves him. He used the fact that she has feelings for his to the fullest and he even tried to use that when Naima was planning on getting wahab married. He though since zunisha loves him she will come running back to him if he apologise.

The only advantage Ushna has is he is in love with her and he is somewhat obsessed with her as well. So no matter how unhealthy his love for his mother is, she will have some kind of emotional hold on him as well. Even if they fight and they have a separation he will never divorce her and won't think of getting another girl into his life. That will be his only redemption quality if he ends up being a puppet to his mother.

That’s on Naima and Shehroz’s entitled behaviour as that is something not taught but comes with it. He was overseas and he has a successful business so he knows how to maintain relationships, he does the one he chooses to.

Naima knew there is no way he will love zunaisha and it is interesting she didn’t guide him maybe also because she thought he doesn’t need it as he brought her whereas with Ushna Naima brought her and Shehroz was dead set against her.

My issue is him as a friend. Relationship wise he didn’t do anything until he fell for Ushna until then he was mechanical with her too but he was attracted to her and he wasn’t attracted to zunaisha. He changed when he realised he was in love - which is good but change has to be consistent.

With Z as a friend even he was horrible and I don’t buy it that he never had any friends as wasn’t he going to a friends engagement when he got shot? So he has friends and he maintained his relationship with them but only with Zunaisha he was indifferent. If that was the case he should have told her that because this means he is not above using people and that’s not what I want to think of him as.

so this was pages back but there was a conversation about how these modern working girls are painted as a bad light in these dramas.

so here are some of my thoughts:

1. I read this somewhere but I can't remember all the details. so please excuse if I get stuff wrong. from what I understood, the number of working women in PK is less in comparison to other countries. especially after marriage, many do not continue to work. this means the bulk of the audience watching these dramas are at home. so they would have antagonistic attitude towards women who are able to have the freedom to go out and be independent. a sort of indirect jealousy.

2. if you are earning your own money, then you are also going to be inclined to be making your own decisions. part of that is pratical -- think about it. if there is an issue at work or if you have to figure out your transport to get there, you are not going to be able to rely on your family or ask for help. once you start thinking for yourself, you are bound to have opinions. you will express them. therefore, it is seen as negative -- these women have thoughts and opinions that contradict the mother-in-law. these women also have thoughts that challenge the men. these women are also capable of surviving on their own and need men emtionally but not necessarily financially. therefore, the lack of dependence makes them less sanskari and "bad"
