Few days back a person killed his wife and small daughters just because his wife delivered another girl for 3rd time.

In my hospital, I have seen delivery cases where in laws never give 2nd glance to their DIL and new born if its a girl.

I personally know of 2 women(owing to family pressure) from well to do families who after having had 1 daughter have aborted female foetuses 3-4 times coz they only want a boy and heir .

Being a woman herself, Alia doesn't want girls.

In my opinion parents should try to not have preferences when it comes to sex of the child. It's not just about female infanticide, that's the most extreme result of parents preferring boys over girls. But it could also lead to parents picking favourites.

Like if a couple has both a boy and a girl, they could prefer the boy over the girl or the girl over the boy, ending up giving their favourite child preferential treatment over the other. Girls being treated like servants in their own family is very much common in India especially rural areas. I know it's "natural" and "human" to have preferences and even to pick favourites among kids for parents.

But everything "natural" and "human" is not always "good". It's natural to feel jealous or sad, doesn't mean it's something good or should be encouraged.

By the way, there was another topic claiming and many people do think so that Alia always gets everything she wants. Let's see if this wish of again copying Kareena gets fulfilled or not.😆

And Not everything is about freedom of speech. Not against Alia wanting 2 boys. Heck she can have 2 or 20 or 200 for all I care!

People should understand the meaning of freedom of speech and their responsibility towards society. Unfortunately can't expect that from a person like Alia.

Anyways Can't argue much. It's upto you what to believe.

Please please do so much research on how things work in major parts of “India” …

And yes for a public figure to say such a statement in a country where daughters are being killed by their own fathers (yesterday news in Bangalore) is wrong .

Boys or girls babies are a blessing . Alia can want and have boys. No one is saying that is wrong. But some opinions should be private and telling it publicly especially in a country like India where it is sensitive subject in the society is not fine.
