in regards to your sari question, vibha -- it all depends on region like spnfan said. there are certain professions and sectors -- govt, teaching, hotels, gold shops -- where you will see sari on a regular basis. in other industries, it may be less so and depends on occasion. for example, there is a reason IT industry have a reputation as terrible dressers. 😆 many of them are lounging in tshirt and jeans. even their salwars are not necessarily updated or stitched properly. 😅 .... but ofcouse that can't be generalized. so it all depends. there are families where as soon as they get married, they are expected to be in sari all the time. there are families where sari becomes an occasion outfit like for a wedding. it really depends on your taste and feel. for some sari is a pain to wear while for others it is just normal. sometimes, mothers will stop their daughters from wearing sari because they don't want them looking "old" -- there is something about a sari that makes a girl look like a woman.
