something I find interesting is that in india, TV dramas are far more expressive and cover different romances and age group problems while movies tend to be more narrow.

I remember this interview of this actress producer because it cracked me up so much with how fiery she was. so the drama she had produced and acted in was a huge rage. so much so that even if you had not watched, you were aware of the daily soap. the female lead was in her 30s and through circumstances ends up getting married to her friend's husband (after her friend falls into a coma) and raising her friend's kids.

so the charcter was known for being no-nonsense and crying in a strong way. when asked why the characters in the drama hardly cry (it was unusual enough to be different from the rest of the pack at the time), the actress said something to this effect -- "I think it is ridiculous that dramas show these women weeping all the time. if that happened in real life, no work will get done. please! I had a difficult life. my mom had a difficult life. if we cried as much as these TV characters, none of us would have moved forward in life" 🤣🤣🤣

I think of her point when I get annoyed at these rona dhona characters; sometimes we need women producers to step up and write stuff closer to life. I think in that regard, ITV have been exploring romance in their 30s and issues like divorce, re-marriage, blended families for many many years. whereas movies are far more constrictive and we still don't see older romances and their related issues.....

Which show is shakk?

Was the actress producer from itv or ptv?

I have been watching pak dramas on and off since zindagi channel started showing pak dramas.

I agree that ITv has way more genres than PTV and also more budget. I remember during kahani ghar ghar ki times Sakshi Tanwar's character used to wear clothes by Manish malhotra and also how ekta spend 1 crore for a single scene in kyunki 😳. 1 crore is still such a huge amount and she spend that much more than 10yrs ago for a serial. Also big channel shows have shoots in foreign locations as well. I think yeh hai mohabbatein had gone out to shoot for more than once.

Also during star one days, we used to get a lot of school and college serials. I feel closing down star one was the start of total degradation of itv. Then even channel V got shut down.

I guess another reason why itv can experiment more is because they can show romance of the leads without getting them married. So we get more of the leads without the family entering the picture so early.

Pak dramas most of the times have to make the leads get married to show proper romantic scenes. Also if the ml falls in love with the girl, he just directing asks for marriage. There is no concept of dating even when both of them are at college. I can only think of dunk where haider and Amal dated for a long time before their marriage got fixed.

I also feel they went from fighting to not fighting to loving to being madly in love very fast when it took 18-19 episodes for us to get proper scenes of them together 😔

They could have extended that shooting scene by 2 more episodes to show ushroze falling for each other.

sorry, spelled it wrong. guess it is written as shukk -- it is a PK drama

the woman producer I was referring to is from ITV. I do like how ITV can spend so many episodes developing the romance. it is a long slow burn and most times, it is entertaining.

I liked ahad more before hum tum. I only watched the initial few episodes and i found him and ramsha over the top.

I never got the appeal of Feroze 🤔. I have seen him in Gul e rana and some episodes of ishqiya but wasn't that impressed with him. He is a good actor but o don't find him attractive at all.

Bilal is total love and Usama is a cutie.
