PART 15

After 2 days,

Geet was summoned to the head of dept (HoD) where she was told she wasn’t competitive enough to be a part of ARYANS-MK’s Team…A Team member has complained about her to him…She was shocked at first but then thought Maan might have wanted something when he wanted her to be efficient police officer… After Geet’s nod, ARYANS-MK were called in and Geet looked directly into Maan’s eyes…Maan being unaware of the happenings only looked at his Sr. to continue…who just entered before them…

Geet:- Well played…(Before Maan could have said anything,Sam-who was right beside him answered)

Sam:- I did…

With that Maaneet looked back at him…Maan in confusion and Geet shocked but soon realized what his motive behind was….

Maan:- What??? Am I missing something???(before they could have contd, Geet’s Sr entered)

GSO:- So, you all are here to complain abt Officer

Geet???(All looked at each other and then at Geet..who was trying hard to control her emotions)

Sam:- Not all Sir, just me….Based on my observation…

GSO:- Care to share what have you observed…

Sam:- Sure Sir...Officer Geet is inefficient to be collaborated with us-The high class Team…

Geet(mocked):- Huhh!! Self-praise…(She said and glanced at Maan who didn’t look back at her…standing seriously and maybe angrily)

GSO:- On what basis can you claim that??? Do you have any proofs???

Sam:- What don’t we test her abilities??? You will get hands-on proofs….

MSO:- Watch your words Sam… How are you so sure??? (Their Sr chided him)

Sam:- Sir, I don’t want to offend but I just know she is incapable in everything she does…

HoD:- Officer Geet do you have anything to say???

Geet:- Sir… (With that, she went and stood right in front of Sam, looking straight in his eyes) Neither am incapable nor am inefficient in anything…

Sam(smirked and challenged her with his tone):- Prove it then…

Geet(hissed):- I don’t have to prove it to you…

Sam(whispered, in her ears):-I happened to know everything…The convo you had with him the other day…(He has satisfied smile on his face seeing her reaction)You are caught…

Maan glared him while Geet looked back at him and then at Maan…Maan sighed, just 2 days of training wasn’t enough for someone to get fully trained in fighting or coming out of her comfort zone…He knew what was cooking in Sam’s mind…and that was the reason he has glared Sam…Sam went back to his original place and contd…

Sam:- Am sorry Sir but I have objection on her being in our Team member…

Geet(cut him in mid):- I can do everything….You can’t just insult me like that…

Sam:- Could you plz tell me, why didn’t you jump from that building the other day when yours and MK’s life was in danger??? You both simply could have jumped off but you didn’t…Why??(Geet looked away) I tell you why Sir….Coz she has acrophobia…She even failed to catch the killer of Dr, in fact the sniper just handcuffed her with her own handcuffs…Didn’t he???(He scoffed and contd) She was abt to get ra*** coz of her intolerance to alcohol or whatever the drink was spiked with…(Maan clenched his fists to stop himself from punching Sam)If MK didn’t reach there on time she wouldn’t have been able to stand here…(She closed her eyes thinking abt the horrified past) and last thing I want to add without witnessing…Am sure, she is not so good at defending or fighting with criminals…. She just is good at desk works, so she should get back to her old work and let this Team have us as usual…That’s all Sir…

The room went silent after Sam finished…Geet not only was exposed to her Sr but to the HoD as well…who had all rights to terminate her there and then…All eyes turned to Geet and before anyone said anything Geet announced…

Geet:- Fine…Am ready for test…

Maan looked at her in shock…It was impossible for her to pass the tests…He looked at Sam who was smirking looking at her…Sure, he did have plans ready for her failure…Maan couldn’t have taken her side in front of so many Srs…thinking of her privacy….So he gulped his anger and waited for the decision…And the decision was made…

As their Srs announced the time of physical test….Sam was grinning ear to ear…while Maan and Geet had their eyes on him…for what he has done…Geet was a bit nervous….but Maan was worried….Not for her duty…but for her safety…He kinda knew what was Sam’s next move…He didn’t glance at his Team who were looking for a response, and just dashed outta there…Leaving Geet and Sam to look at each other …

Geet successfully did all the climbing and jumping stunts her Srs asked…and then the firing sessions also went well…Now, only one test was left…Fighting, in which Sam was a pro and Geet…well, she dared him to come forward and have a fight…Sam, as if was waiting for that moment only…He knew he will out class her in this one for sure…So here they were….looking into each other’s eyes…One was fighting for her pride and the other just wanted to get rid of her…

Sam:- You win, you stay…You lose, you leave… (He challenged)

Geet:- We will see…(She accepted his challenge)

With that the fight started… It was quite unfair for Geet to fight a giant man but it was matter of her self-respect and pride now...If she could fight against Maan then she sure can fight with Sam…But, he sorta was fighting fiercely…forgetting that he was fighting with a girl…He twisted her arm upside down…Geet hit her head on floor and winced…Maan was abt to get her but stopped as Adi’s hand came in contact with his..The head banging was really powerful that she swirled as she tried to get on her feet…But to everyone’s surprise, she resumed back the fight…and she did out class him in 1st round…The fight went on for more than 10 mints without a winner and so, the HoD and Srs decided to stop it…as Sam again was pressing her down on the ground and she flung her feet to hit him on chest…resulting the positions were changed in an instant and that was when HoD came in between…

HoD:- Okkhh…Stop you both now… (Sam and Geet looked at their head)You both are very brave and good fighters …We can’t decide on any one…So, lets stop this fight here… As far as Officer Geet’s capabilities are concerned…She has proved that she deserves to be in force so she will cont her duty as before…

GSO:- Here I object Sir… Its shame for me and for my officer to continue the job with ARYANS-MK…This Team and specifically this person was rude with her…He insulted her by questioning her capabilities… I would like her to get herself outta there… (He said as he looked for Geet’s answer)

Geet:- I totally agree with my Sr… When there’s no respect I wouldn’t like to cont there… I withdraw from all the cases that this Team has… I will maintain the confidentiality with the cases I have access…Am happy that you all recognized my abilities and let me cont with the force…I will cont as an individual officer henceforth, if you could allow me…

Maan, for the first time in that day, has smiled hearing her….He was proud of her choice now…and a heated glanced at Sam…with nod indicated something…HoD and her Sr agreed and the meeting was dismissed like that…

Her Sr told her to get herself medical attainment and she went straight to Dr Naina-Her friend for her injuries…Geet knocked and entered…

Naina:- Here you come…

Geet:- Hi…

Naina:- So, how are you???

Geet:- Don’t even start it…That guy just punched me as if am some punching bag…

Naina: who was that monster???

Geet:- Am working with a gan…(She stopped herself from saying gang)I mean a team…a member…Sam did this…

Naina(‘s head shot up):- Sam??? As in…

Geet: I don’t know…There is some special squad team….Sam is against me in his team…So, he started a verbal fight….accused me of being nonprofessional…etc…and challenged me….As a result I landed myself in here…

Geet finished and gave a worried angered Naina a painful smile…Naina examined her head and her arm and a worried looked covered her face as she tried to grab her arm…Geet cried in pain…

Naina:- Shoulder Dislocation…

Geet:- What….

Naina:- The bone in here is dislocated… (She pointed at her X-ray)

Geet:- Don’t touch…Its paining …

Naina:- I know…You look like a clown with that red face and eyes… hehe…

She tried to joke so that Geet would feel a bit relaxed …and she did smile midst of her rubbing teary eyes and face…

Naina(muttered to herself):- He must be such a monster…(She applied disinfectant) I will just come back…

With that Naina was gone and Geet tried to clean her face again and again....She has acted brave in front of others but when alone she could cry …and so her tears didn’t stop even after rubbing again and again…and then she felt a hand pressing her injured arm…

Geet(winced and turned ready to beat Naina):-Ahh!! Don’t…(She stopped as she saw Maan standing there, looking at her injury) what…are….you…doing…here??? (She asked as she tried to cover her exposed arm)

He left her arm and came around, knelt in front of her on floor…looking directly in her eyes…The eyes, he could see shinning coz of tears…

Maan:- Am sorry…Its all my fault…

Geet:- Don’t be…In fact am sorry for doubting your intentions…

Maan:- Huhh??? (He didn’t get…she was talking abt she almost has accused him in HoDs office)

Geet:- Never mind… Am fine…(She tried to plaster a smile)

Maan:- No you aren’t …

Geet:- Am here for the best treatment…Am gonna get… right now… So, if you can excuse…(She was cut by him)

Maan:- I will stay…by your side…

Geet:- You don’t have to…

Maan(changed the topic…meaning he was to stay no matter what):-You were quite impressive today…Bold and brave…

Geet:- Thanks for the training…(She tried laughing, seeing him seriously worried for her made her soft)

Maan(shook his head):- We just had started and Sam…just ruined it all for us…

Naina:- Hello peeps…Am sorry to ruin your convo….But, needa do the treatment…

Maan:- Yeah sure…Go ahead…

Naina:- Ahh!! You are staying…(She asked as she looked at Maan and then Geet)

Geet:- He is going…(She tried to signal him)

Maan:- Am staying…(But he was stubborn)

Naina:- Ok…whatever..Am a busy Dr…I will start right away…

Maan:- Yeah plz…

And just then Maan got hold of Geet’s right hand…and looked deeply into her eyes…and she forgot…the world around her as Maan touched her cheeks and rubbed her teary face and eyes…a painful sensation brought them back into reality as Dr Naina tied bandage around her left arm..…and then she put on a sling….

Naina:-There you do… You aren’t allowed to open this bandage for 6 weeks…and avoid using this arm…much….No driving…no cooking and no harsh movements…Its only gonna pain you…

Geet: 6 weeks…I can’t, needa join..

Maan:- Here’s your approved leave for 6 weeks…

He handed her an envelope to which Geet looked at him then at Naina who only smiled at her…

Geet:- Wait…Do you both know each other??? (Naina and Maan exchanged looks) Ahh!!! I will do desk work…Don’t need leaves…

Naina:- You are a lefty Geet…How are you going to do the desk work with your right hand…You can’t even hold spoon with your right hand…

Geet(muttered):- Thanks for reminding me…

Naina:- okhh.. Guys I have an appointment to attain…See you…Geet I will visit you…

Geet(smiled at her friend):- Thanks…

Maan:- I thought you only had that Champak as your friend…

Geet:- Yeah..She became my friend when I went for my physical exam.

Maan:- Oh I see, so she is the one…Real culprit…who let you in, in this force…

Geet:- Hey!!!Don’t blame her…

Maan:- Anyways…I will drop you home… Shall we…

Geet:- Don’t …My legs are fine…I will manage…

Maan:- Don’t argue Geet…Just come…

Maan told her as he gave his hand for her to take…

Geet sighed and gave in….She knew, she couldn’t stand a chance against this person…He always have been authoritative over everyone and she wasn’t any exception…

Geet:- You didn’t tell me, do you know Dr Naina???

Maan:- Like you do…I also visit her for medical needs…

Geet:- And that’s it???

Maan(smiled at her):- What else you want to hear???

Geet(looked away):- Nothing…

Maan(shook his head):- Let’s go then..
