Err
Let’s get one thing straight
Unless they agressively market the film in the north( like rrr, kgf) and include Hindi actors to grab that market, the Hindi dubbbed releases for south movies are like an added perk …it’s the bonus not the salary
It’s like a “might as well” thing to gain some extra cash on top of their base collections in the south
They look to recover their money predominantly in south and overseas markets …Hindi releases are literally for some extra cash post the success of baahubali,..I don’t think every film expects that kinda success in the north …
However, sometimes it just so happens (like with pushpa, baahubali) that the “perk” goes up to 100 cr or 500 cr ….😂
KGF 2 😎🥳
What a weird thing to tout. South films are actually made with south audiences in mind. Stories, budget, everything. They plan to recover their costs from the main markets, not Hindi belt.
It's like claiming Mission Impossible #N didn't do well in India. It wasn't meant for India, but extra cash would always be welcome.
At this point, Bollywood is grasping at straws to justify its existence.
KGF 2 and Bahubali 2 made more money in North than South even though both were big blockbusters in South. True blue pan-Indian movies.
There will be the branded films like KGF 2 and RRR which either have value from a previous film or the director has some value due to his previous film which you know have great chances to score. Then there will be a Pushpa type which comes along and suprises but even that will always be a rarity. Also Pushpa had a budget and scale which also gives it a chance. But the sort of releases which we have been seeing are basically tack fests and met their deserved fate.
Ok ok, we get it

I'm trying to imagine Great Indian Kitchen or Kumbalangi Nights or Minnal Murali made with Hindi belt in mind😆.
They aren't, and the budgets suit the small Malayali audience. The appreciation these movies get from non-Mallu audience is just cherry on top.
BoI is trying to pass off failures of movies not meant for Hindi belt as proof Bollywood isn't doing anything wrong. Difference is south movies are succeeding with their audiences and rarely with Bollywood audience, and Bollywood is not succeeding with its own.
BOI gone mad 🤪
"Bollywood film see disaster fate in Hindi". And that's the reality. It's embarassing. Trying to hide their own failure, they're trying to justify few South movies not doing well in Hindi belt. South films are made with South audience in mind. Hindi belt income is extra. Instead of going after South, think about the current and future state of bollywood. BOI should be ashamed of posting these kind of articles.
