He looked at her as she entered the living room all decked up and ready to go. She looked ravishing as usual yet as he let his eyes roam all over her body, she didn't look at him. In an attempt to catch her attention, he questioned
"Bun?"
"Yes..."
"Ok..."
He walked behind her and stood close admiring her exposed neck admiring the tiny little hairs stand up in response to his gaze. His fingers tingled to feel her skin but he held back for her sake.
"Mmm... This is good too..."
She moved away from him.
"Oh.."
He smiled.
"Is my Anu angry?"
She clicked her tongue and said nothing.
"You know I am not going to change my mind..."
"No issues... do as you wish... I'll do as I wish..."
"Ah... I see... so that's why..."
He gestured to her hair and gave a smile.
"Whatever you do, you will still be my beautiful Anu... and I will still love you more... and more.... and more..."
She felt her cheeks color at his words. Trust him to know just exactly what to say. She opened her mouth to respond when Mukku entered with Gk.
"Ready, guys? Let's go... Aww... you guys look awesome... let's take a family picture..."
"Okay... give me the phone Mukku... you guys stand... I'll take..."
"I said family picture, Bhabhi..."
Anu looked up at her a little confused and a little happy as what she meant started slowly sinking in. Anuj reached out, grabbed her hand and pulled her towards them making her finally believe that all this was real. She was one of them.... The Kapadias.

The twinkling fairy lights made the Shah house look pretty. Her children had done a good job, she thought. Walking in the hallway, she bumped into the one person she didn't want to see.... her ex-husband. He took a good look at her and his voice suspiciously sweet, he said
"Hey... You look beautiful..."
"Thanks. Where are the kids?"
"What's the hurry? I just complimented you... and you want to run away... Remember when..."
She looked irritated.
"And I said thanks... do you want to talk something else?"
His expression changed suddenly and he sneered
"Keep the attitude to yourself... I know how exactly to break it. It won't be long before you start dancing to my tunes again... Oh... and your new little family... they'll cease to be a family soon."
Trying to fight back her fear as the tone of his voice brought back the nightmares she had lived through, she tried to walk past him but he blocked her way.
"Move away..."
He approached closer to her when a stern voice at the door stopped her.
"Vanraj... she said move away..."
They both looked up to see GK by the door.
"Aha... and what would you do if I don't?"
"There are a million things I can do... to start with... you know you are working with my daughter... I can let her know you harassed her precious Anu Bhabhi today... and I assure you she values her Bhabhi way more than her business partner. "
Vanraj looked stunned. GK walked in towards Anu and took her hand in his.
"You really don't have to take nonsense from this guy anymore... you are part of our family now."
He lead her out of the room and Vanraj stood there musing over what just happened. The GK fellow was becoming too much of a problem.

"Good evening, Mr. Shah."
Vanraj turned around to see Anuj Kapadia entering.
"Good evening, Mr. Kapadia"
"You know, I recently discovered the events that led to Anu's exit from here... and I must say, I am impressed. Never thought you could stoop so low to bring a woman down in front of her own children. But as you have shown your place, it's only right that I show mine too."
His voice was cold and composed yet Vanraj felt his heart tremble.
"I am generally known for my benevolence. So I am giving you a chance. Get yourself out of Mukku's project and promise not to mess with my Anu. I may consider showing some mercy."
"And if I don't..."
Anuj took his spectacles off and wiped them clean before placing them on his nose again. Adjusting the frame, he said
"Then be ready to face the consequences. I believe it's too early for you to retire penniless."
With that, Anuj left. Vanraj swallowed a lump that had made it's way to his throat. He had heard of the savage Kapadia from his business friends. As a sudden thought struck his brain, he gathered himself and gave a sly smile.
"Let's see how the attitude changes after you get my Christmas gift. Merry Christmas, Mr. Kapadia."
