Nupur Sharma has full rights as Indian citizen to say any darned thing she wants about any religious figure.

She retains that right as a member of the government also.

Unfortunately, Muslim countries are several magnitudes more rich, powerful, and influential when compared to India. If they refuse to sell oil to India, all the country will be in soup. Which is prob why the govt reacted as it did.

Govt should prob arrange classes in international diplomacy to all incoming representatives of the people at the beginning of each term. Sort of like sensitivity training at jobs. Because while Nupur Sharma had the right to say what she did, was it wise to act as though she was on India Forums, spouting off on Muslims? Clearly not.

I respect all religions because that's the upbringing I've had. My mother has taught me to respect everyone as an individual, and as a human. However, claiming to be a Muslim and exhibiting no trait of one is a problematic practice, in my opinion.

P.S. Islam does have guidelines and as Muslims, we are to abide by them. There's no problem in that.

If someone is claiming to be Muslim while the actions we MIGHT see don’t follow Islamic guidelines, doesn’t give us the right to label them problematic… if someone say they are Muslim/Hindu/Christian.. leave it at that… no need to dissect their actions… it’s between them and their God
