Ranbir said: “It’s deep rooted in Indian culture, and we had the opportunity to create our own Marvel, which Ayan is trying to do with his Astraverse. Any film, any good compelling story, made in your culture, in an authentic way, in a true form, will connect to a large audience." Further, Kapoor said that he and Alia Bhatt were sitting and dreaming about this film with Ayan Mukerji and were also being soldiers to him. He said that they are three best friends and are 'really excited and really privileged' to be part of Brahmastra. "A part of this vision so selfishly as an actor that I would do it over and over again," said Ranbir.

Brahmastra is a three-part fantasy epic. Talking about it, Ranbir said: "Brahmastra is not an end in itself, but it’s a means to a larger end." The film is scheduled for release on 9 September 2022 in five Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Actors should refrain from making such comparison statements coz they end up raising expectations of audiences . And then the product/film needs to be very very good coz you set public’s expectations high.

And also open yourself up for trolling and mockery.

Or maybe that is their goal. Like Varun dhawan saying that crappy Gerua movie is like Inception.
(or maybe they are truly that dumb.)

On one side KGF is on the way of making their own Marvel and now this😆

Atleast they waited to see how people receive KGF 2 to call their movies going in Marvel way, infact it is audience who started called their universe as Marvel.

Here Ranbir did not even gave chance for audiences to decide it but calling themselves as Marvel... areee bhai wait for the first part to get release and see how people will react

And you're loha man or makkad man.

Anyways, I am little bit excited though. Supernatural themes always attracts me. This movie and Bhediya I am actually excited

Will American filmmakers copy Indian filmmakers? Why do Indians feel the need to compare their content to Hollywood? You have your roots in Hindu mythology, where does Marvel feature in there?

I know exactly what Ranbir means when he says that Brahmastra is "like our own Marvel". However, he could have very simply said that as a team we endeavour to create a unique film universe. "Astra-verse" as silly as it sounds, is apt.

And he clearly didn’t learn from that debacle not to make comparisons to classics or big movies. You are just setting yourself up for ridicule.

They just keep digging their graves deeper with comparisons like these.

Also, I can't help but wonder how most of the BW is still in colonial hangover. The validation seeking from west is so fcukin ridiculous. This sort of spectacle is seen less in South industries. Rajamouli never felt the need to compare Bahubali Or RRR to any Hollywood product despite having a superior film.
