multiple u turns of Brahmastra

at the outset the movie maybe the good though the trailer does look shaky but I was just remembering all that they have said about the movie since it began and the sharp turns they have taken are more than that by monkey on a bike on a himalayan mountain pass

movie began in 2014 which was before the release of baahubali so they can say they thought about it first, but when it started it was called "dragon" and was inspired by game of thrones (stated by ayan himself) and ranbir was called rumi and it was sci fic so it was totally different

rajamouli was never in the picture,

once baahubali succeeded kjo sensed how hindu mythology sells so repackaged everything and changed title to brahmastra and rumi became shiva and 2 part movies started selling (with kgf too) so it became trilogy

now the movie is "rooted in hindu mythology, authentic blah blah" and rajamouli is their guide philosopher

but in between marvel came with its multiverse so this became astraverse

no wonder the movie took ages to shoot, basically they have pivoted everytime something hit the bulls eye and have incoporated it in their film

and the trailer looks like a cross between GoT, marvel and indian mythological movies (such as anji, diler in hindi)

kjo wants a big ticket hit desperately but in his quest for that he may end up ruining ayan's career who actually is a promising filmmaker but probably has his own space and sensibilities

this is based on my conjecture based on all the interviews and articles I read since the movie began

This is gonna bomb big time. Or they will apply the new tactic where they will declare it hit despite not recovering it's full budget.

Are we sure KJo made all the changes here or Ayan himself?

Before the movie went into production Ayan even called it India’s Avatar. In a recent interview Ranbir called it India’s Marvel. I think Ayan had an idea or a vision and worked on it for many years, and over the years his idea went through changes which ideas do, no problem there. But Ayan either wasn’t too sold on his own idea or he wasn’t able to execute it well so the movie went into changes even after production and that’s where delays happened.

The movie got pushed back 3 times after it went into production and that was even before Covid hit. In one of those delays Ayan posted on Instagram talking about how he and his team need more time to make the movie something grand for India. So the idea of this being a game changer and something huge for Indian cinema has been pushed by Ayan himself, and to lesser extent by Ranbir. You raise expectations this much you better deliver a masterpiece. Otherwise, remember those Dilwale Inception jokes? 😳

good point, I get the impression ayan is not so powerful yet to dominate kjo who is very business savvy

agree I too wanted to state the same, ayan had an idea and may have changed it, it happens but complete pivots due to market pressure is because kjo meddled and changed it once he started getting into all these pan india stuff

ayan posting it on on instagram doesnt mean the message is from him he may just be the messenger

ayan seems more a modern day basu chatterjee and karan wants to make him the kamal amrohi

just like he wanted to alia to become a madhuri in kalank

I love that you used the word 'conjecture'. It's Kjo's favourite. Anyways, I agree that this film and the way they're continuously incorporating trends in it might affect Ayan's career. For his sake though, I hope he's made a good film. Though, I don't think I'm gonna watch it. 😑
