I disagree with bans and censorship. If there were malintent, such bans only solidify them.

But Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman - none of them are any bastions of freedom, democracy, or secularism. Neither do they claim to be. They are very openly Islamic states. So them banning or questioning is not surprising nor is it news. Even when China and Russia censor things - we all know they are police states.

It would be worth mentioning and concern if a nation that claims to be democratic, free, and separating church and state would ban and censor media.

so bottom line is no democracy , secular in islamic countries , no place to others . So secular , democratic countries must not become Islamic countries .

I agree. That is why Satanic Verses being banned in India is a huge matter of concern. This is the classic show of strength by an intolerant, organized minority that knows how to use the threat of violence as a veto.
