A cricket ground is mostly oval in shape so divides the ground with a imaginary line into 2 equal halves

~The imaginary line(dotted line) is called Line of pitch.

The two halves are called

🔹Leg-side(On-side)

🔹Off side.

~Inner Yard: Light green area

~ Outer Yard: Dark Green area

Right handed Batsmen

🔸Off side ------> Field on right side

🔸Leg side ------> Field on their left side.

Left Handed Batsman: positions are reversed

🔸Off side ------> Field on Left side

🔸Leg side ------> Field on their Right side.

🔰Off-side

There are only 4 important positions on the off side which you can remember by following 4 words

Tumse Pyaara Cricket Mera ( Back to Front )

T----> Third man

P----> Point

C----> Cover

M----> Mid-off (as it's off side)

🔰Leg-side(On-side)

Similarly there are 4 important positions on the leg-side too which you can remember by following

Faaltu Shot Maara toh Mara ( Back to Front )

F----> Fine-Leg

S----> Square-leg

M----> Mid-wicket

M----> Mid-on (as it's on-side)

Rest of the positions are due to movement of fielders toward Inner yard from Outer Yard OR from Inner Yard to Outer Yard in that particular area.

Whoa this reminded me my 10th board PT theory paper 😆

I remember my dad ( who played club and county cricket) had drawn the ground on my drawing book and taught me all the positions 😆
Thank you.. those were the best days

This is what exactly happens when any student ask something to the teacher which is not of their level of understanding and teacher replies Ignore it, woh tumhare level ka nahi hain😆

DLS is actually that. 😆 I can explain but hardly kisi ko samajh me aayega.

Just an example to show how wierd and unfair DLS is at times. 🤣

In the u19 wc 2020, india vs nz was going on. India played for 21 overs, scored around 103/0 wickets and rain came. It lasted long and the match had to be reduced to 23 overs each. Since India had to play just 2 overs, coach rahul dravid said don't lose wickets. Even singles will do but don't lose wickets. DLS will do the rest of the job. India scored 115/0. Nz target revised by DLS was 192. 🤣 almost 80 runs more than India scored. That's how screwed up DLS is. So IGNORE. Phir kabhi.

This is actually not relevant to 90 percent of cricket players. Because 90 percent of the ground are not in proper shapes like this. Cricket can be played anywhere with anything small that can be thrown and anything long which can hit a thrown object.

To watch cricket on tv you also don't need this. Just follow the ball and listen to commentary. They are good enough for novice people. Only we experts make fun of them. 🤣
