How ITV works?

ITV daily soaps are very different as they work on the story on a weekly basis. Budget, availability of actors, location, channel pressure, TRP, all defines the progression of the story. The writers have to take into account everything when they dish the daily episodes. I guess it’s difficult to generate quality content all the time. Maybe that’s the reason the current storyline is going haywire. They did a very good job for some 100 episodes post Aryan’s entry. Arylie scenes are still good but everything else is going down the drain. We were hoping for a progressive story that focused on Imlie’s career and college but we never got one.

Add channel interference too. I think as the trps returned to pre COVID restrictions normal, channel became insecure as it was too comfortable with high trp during lockdown.

But they'll have to adjust to this post pandemic trend, if they kill creativity with trial and error, the trps will reduce further.

For example who wants to see same pregnancy/baby track in all shows across all channels just with different actors? It's sheer stupidity.
