I had that as one of my running theories a while back. This would explain why he loves Manjari more because this woman who isn't even his mother loves him so much and his father cannot even respect her. But he won't know that Neil is actually a real Birla and would be heart broken that his brother was never given the respect that he deserved. He's already upset the family does not give Neil respect but now knowing he is actually legitimate is just on another level.
