Part 12- last chapter
Imlie was sad when their director announced the company is being bought by another company and that he is stepping down because of that. She loved her boss. He was gentleman and true journalist, she learned lot from him. The new director will be joining in from next week.
Imlie personal life was mundane, she doesnt date nor she has friends. She was stuck in college time still and sometimes she always wondered that she should move on, let bygones be bygones. But she needs a closure, how? Nobody ever reached out to her. She got an idea. She send everybody an anonymous message to their social media to meet her in old college ground.
They were here except Aryan of course she had heard that he is busy man after being so successful and she didnt even expect him to come. Everybody else came , they hugged each other and cried saying sorry not able to meet often. Imlie watched from far, once they had settled they realised none of them had messaged to meet, they thought maybe Aryan messaged them.
Imlie decided to finally reveal herself. She was nervous , she slowly walked towards the group and Kesha notice her first. Her eyes went wide and she ran to Imlie hugging her tightly.
“How are you??”she asked
“Am ok” she replied. Once they parted, they walked towards the group. Everybody was shocked and speechless. “Please sit Kesha” she said.
“It was me who sent the message. I have not forgotten any of you. So much so i was hurt that i havent made friends in my life. I want a closure. I been stuck in the time, you all hid from me it broke me more than him kissing a girl. Kyu chupaya?” She asked staring at each them. Lewis spoke up , “Because we knew we could lose you and exactly that happen”
“Acha. Thodi koshish ki phir you guys didint even try to talk to me put sense into me or atleast be there with me. Yes i was mad i need my time, pura final year not once? Itni buri dost thi mein?” Finally tears she was holding fell.
“Why?!” She asked them again.
“We are sorry bro you have no idea how much we missed you. We were so ashamed that we figured to give you time. And believe me Aryan was devastated he was guilty so much so he changed himself completely “ he said while walking towards Imlie. “Bro am sorry” holding his ears and Imlie hugged him.
She had to let it go whatever reason they had, today their eyes shows how much genuine they are.
“Wow ! It was you?” She heard a voice behind her, making her hair stand on her arms. She turned and saw Aryan in business suit.
Her eyes glistened as she saw him walking. She asked to herself, does he feel guilty anymore or has moved on?
‘Hmm.. ‘ they both said it at once. Lewis told the gang to let them give time alone.
‘How are you? Where you been?… imlie raised her hand to make him stop. ‘Why now ? Why not before? You didn’t bother before y u care now ?’ She said while trying to wipe her tears as she wanted to stand tall and strong in front of him. He had no words but fell on the ground on his knees. Imlie was taken aback as she didn’t expect a great businessman to get his expensive suit dirty!? ‘Yeh kya drama hai ? She blurted out. Aryan started ‘imlie I can’t even begin what and how I been through the day u stopped talking, I was in the wrong and I should have confessed right away but the fact of you leaving me was grilling me in.. I didn’t get the courage and I hid. I took you for granted knowing you will always be there for me in my life!’
… ‘now I am not’ said imlie. I brought this meeting today to get my closure, which I got from them but I didn’t expect you here at all’ ‘I’m sorry imlie I will do anything and everything to get you back! I couldn’t keep my head straight after you left. I needed the ehsaas of you - hence I tattooed your name on my chest by my heart.. ‘ imlie bent down on her knees and felt it as he opened his shirt.. he was still the same she felt but .. and she stood up.
Aryan grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him - ‘will you be mine forever?’ Imlie still wasn’t ok inside but wanted to give him the chance again but also punish him.. she said ‘I’m taken’
Aryan was stoned at her response.. imlie turned around trying to not laugh and started walking away.
Aryan sprinted to her and grabbed her from back. Imlie turns around bursted into laughter and he hugged her tightly like he will crush her.
Everyone joined running towards them into a group hug!
Imlie kind of forgave aryan but didn’t know if she could get into the relationship! Aryan gave her the space as he understood. They stayed best friends forever with a little hope in Aryan’s heart if they could become ARYLIE
Thé gang was in touch like before but with their priorities, ofcourse first! They met once a month and partied.. Imlie & Aryan stayed the bestest they could, much more stronger bond than before… but who knows if they’ll be married ;)
