When the doctor announced it was a girl, her father had jumped up in joy and ran all around the street announcing the arrival of his princess.
When she was all beautifully dressed as a bride, her dear mother bid her adieu with a tear in her eye promising she will always remain her princess.
When her brother met her years later at a country fair carrying her children all alone because her husband had to leave early, he quickly bought her favorite ice cream at the nearby stall whispering assurance that she was still his princess.
When Samar had come home one day from school, he had seen her all dressed up to attend the garba, he had looked at her adoringly and claimed that she was a princess.
When her world came crashing down and she felt the home she had built crumble, Devika assured her that being a princess, she would be able to pick up and move on.
When she had gotten all dressed up for him one fine day, Mukku had screamed how like a princess her dear bhabhi looked.
Today, when Kinjal had finished her bridal look with the last stroke of her brush, she had sighed and said how like a princess she looked.
She had always been a princess.
As she walked down the aisle and stood beside him, he drew in a deep breath, leant towards her and whispered
"You look beautiful... my Queen..."
And just like that... The princess became a Queen....
