I think they are bringing them to be fillers till Mukku's return. Tab tak koi toh drama karna hai na. And audience is clearly not interested in watching Shah House dramas any more. And writers ko to existing characters ko koi track dena nahi hai.

Truthfully, all the women in my extended family are like Chandi maas (more like Devika/mukku/dolly - loving, caring, but at the same time bindaas, don't give two hoots about what others think) so I cannot relate with Anupama or even for that matter Kinjal.

Until I watched Anupamaa, I lived in my own bubble, didn't even know people like her existed in 2022!

I fully agree on toxic and dangerously self-absorbed BAA and grandparent never apologizes and never stops. In this show it has been stubbornly to the last on-and-on. That's why these act in ways don't present in the best light and upset audience FANS along the way.

I will not be surprised if V change his direction from BAA toward what wifey K shared feelings about positive mind and family happiness welfare to enjoy MaAN marriage.
