Yes, Archie's comics were part of growing up in the 80s. TinTin and Asterix Obelix were true prized possessions for me. 😊 TinTin comics are from Belgium. Few years back, while in layover at Brussels airport, I found some. 😃

They've made a show here on Archie's comics; named Riverdale. I've never watched and not sure how popular it is.

Riverdale High is the school Archie and his friends (barely) study in.

Comics!! Most people used to pick up Bombay Times for the Page 3 gossip but I used to read it religiously for the comic strips on Page 2☺️ I continued this practice well into my adulthood and now have subscribed to various comic feeds on TW. Garfield was my favourite!! Still is. So are Calvin and Hobbes. And Archie too. And of course Tinkle with its Supandi, Shikari Shambu, Tantri the Mantri etc😳😆

Talking of exchange of comic books , Tintin and Asterix were always exchanged one to one ... Like wise chandamama and champak and Tinkle ....coming to novels it was always hardy boys and Nancy drew ...Enid Blyton and Alfred Hitchcock 😀.....There were unwritten rules regarding exchange amongst our school or society friends .... I mean you would never exchange a Tintin for a chandamama 😀... An Asterix obelix would be a neater and acceptable exchange..... Ofcourse indrajal comics were ubiquitous....There was a great joy in binding phantom Mandrake and bahadur comics in one hard bound volume 🙏😀

सुंदर दिसण्यासाठी साठी,माणसाने सुंदर असणे महत्त्वाचे आहे...मुळात सुंदर दिसणं हा स्त्रीचा गुणाधार नसून केवळ एक विशेषण आहे.पण सुंदर काय आहे, याबाबत आपण साचेबद्ध होत गेलो आहोत. अगदी अमुक एक सुंदर आहे, असा मारा आपल्या मनावर होत राहतो.पण खरं सौन्दर्य कसं असतं आरशासमोर चेहरा फक्त स्वच्छ धुवून उभ्या राहा. स्वतःला सांगा, की 'मी सुंदर आहे' आणि बघा कसे वाटते ते! काही सेकंद का होईना, चांगले वाटले, तर ही गोष्ट कायमसाठी लक्षात ठेवा. कोणतीच बाह्य गोष्ट तुम्हाला सुंदर करू शकत नाही. स्वतःच्या शरीराची, मनाची, स्वास्थ्याची काळजी घ्या. व्यायाम करा, पौष्टिक अन्न खा. आपल्या माणसांवर प्रेम करा, स्वतःसाठी थोडा वेळ काढा, ज्या गोष्टी तुम्हाला आतून आनंद देतात त्या करा. निरोगी, स्वस्थ राहणे, व्यायाम करणे, संतुलित आहार घेणे, त्वचेची, आरोग्याची, स्वतःची काळजी घेणे या प्राथमिक गोष्टी आहे. या स्त्री आणि पुरुष अशा दोघांसाठीही आहेत.

माधुरी दीक्षित अशीच मनात ठसलेलं सौन्दर्य.....एक यशस्वी अभिनेत्री ,यशस्वी पत्नी ,आणि आपल्या मुलांची आई ,तीचसुसंस्कृतणा,एक आकर्षकस्वच्छ व्यक्तिमत्त्व,तीच स्मितहास्य ,तीचचिरतारुण्य ....एक चांगल्या स्वभावाची व्यक्ती ....तिच्या बद्दल म्हणूनच प्रचंड आदर आहे आणि कौतूक ही...

तीच मराठमोळं दिसणं आणि ते तीन जपणं....अजून आम्हाला भावतं....असंच एक स्वर्गीय सौन्दर्य आचार्य अत्रेंच्या शब्दात सांगायचं तर..

ती कधी तसबीरीतून भेटते तर कधी ....स्वप्न नगरीतून कवियत्री संगीता जोशी सुरेश भटांच्या या कविते बद्दल म्हणतात... पूर्णिमेचे चांदणे वेणीत माळून, अधिऱ्या आठवांची आरती हृदयात घेऊन ती येते, तर कधी मराठमोळ्या रूपात गीतगंगेच्या तटावर घागर घेऊन येते! कुठल्याही रूपात येवो, आम्ही तिची उत्कंठेने वाट पाहत असतो...

आमच्या बकेट लिस्ट मध्ये अशीच एक अपूर्ण इच्छा आहे....ती प्रत्यक्ष आम्हाला भेटली तर .....….तर....त्या भेटीत सुरेश भटांची जशी त्यांच्या या कवितेतून अवस्था झाली तशीच होईल..आम्ही ही गोंधळून जाऊ काही सुचणार नाही.....
