Humare yahaan toh saara paisa goes in live food stations. Usmein bhi paneer ki subzi toh zyaada tar logon ko pasand nahi aati and desserts ki variety toh kam pad hi jaati hai. Hum kaafi ajeeb hai. 😏😂
South Indian weddings in general do not have naach gaana by family members. I have not seen people dance because of shyness ( this word could mislead due to over use by OTT Anu ..., but you get the idea). I have not witnessed any dancing in our community at all.
Of course I am not generalizing all SI weddings, there are exceptions and change in trend of late. Mehandi was never a part of custom in SI wedding, but you find them getting done, likewise many customs have changed due to trendy influence.
That was the reason, I was curious to know how common dancing like this openly was.Based on responses, it appears to be a norm in north indian weddings given the current trend, what is shown on TV seems to come close. Thanks for humoring me with your responses.
The trend among Indian-american weddings are slightly different as well, as it is a blend of SI, NI & American styles
