See I also want to live separately. Your words gave me some validation that I am not the only one. I was talking about this to a friend like a normal discussion. And she end up giving me lecture how I should respect my in laws, live with them not try to separate their son.
And I was like I am not separating anyone. Heck i am not even married yet. I just said i prefer separate living arrangement rather than misunderstand fight while living together for my own privacy sake. It was crazy.

i feel u. I have such friends. I call such people self righteous. I mean come on giving respect does not mean cave to all their whimsy and sacrifice your own happiness. I dont even get that logic. And u wont be able to push this logic through their thick skulls either so i have given up on such friends. i particularly hate this line of thinking. If i truly have that much power on someone i would be hella arrogant but i know i don't. At the end choices are on people themselves.

U know i want to add one ritual to marriage ceremony. Kanyadaan k jese var-daan b hona chahiye. Parents give up all their rights on their child because now he belongs to wife just as girls k parents k karte he! 😛

its extremly problematic. I mean that son is human not some object that people fight over it! I have this friend couple and man that girl suffers so much because guy’s mother is always busy playing power play games. And poor guy, he is like crushed between the two 🤣
