Firstly hats off for studying so hard and becoming a doctor...Thanks so much for letting me know..I'd like to ask you few more questions...

1) do your doctor friends prefer a non doctor wife or a doctor.. medico or non medico what's their preference n why?

2) do u find abhi birla's character relatable? Ever heard of any doctor having a love story like his?

3) also the music therapy in the serial..how accurate or non accurate u find it..

1) Others can have different opinion but I will be honest...what i have seen so far in my medical circle -

Doctor boy wants doctor wife...majority...Some doctor wives are of higher specialized field than him while other doctor wives are of lesser busier specialized field..e.g. Gynaecology is very busy for ladies..and emergencies too. Most of the doctor boys and girls get set during their medical college studies only...

if Doctor boy wants to go abroad then he will compromise with girl from any other field to get the green card or citizen tag..

I am unmarried so I don't know why they choose that way...But main reason is their thinking is of same level and they understand each other better...I have not come across any marriage failure between doctors so far in my surroundings.

The doctor boys, who are not on top during medical studies...they have chosen non-medico girls who can take care of him and their kids and family...for more peaceful life.

2) Yes I find Abhimaniyu Birla's character relatable. but i have not heard of such love story so far..

Abhimaniyu as a doctor has compassion and he fulfills his duty with his best. He gets that compassion and love from his mother despite being emotionally traumatized from very young age..

One personal scenario i witnessed was - A girl from particular religion (I will not name it) ...she was in my batch.. She was brilliant in studies..she was one of the toppers of my batch..suddenly before she completes her MBBS studies, her parents stopped her form coming to the college and got her married. I am not able to recall much but her mother was supportive but can't do anything against her husband.

3) Music therapy...I have no idea...

but in general, personally...I was practicing in Northern Canada in rural areas..where winters are very depressive...I go in dark at 8 o'clock to the hospital and come back in the evening after sunset...hectic working schedule.

So i was using some soothing music clips for meditation e.g. water flowing sound, tinkling bells in serene nature...and I was playing some sad songs too to let flow my tears from eyes and sometimes happy songs...It had always helped me to reduce my stress, make me reenergize and ready for work again...I was doing this during weekend mostly...

Everyday When I leave from home to hospital...I had one particular song that I would play all 365 days 😆...that uplifts me to another level...

So music does help tremendously to heal within..

But what is shown in this show seems little off...Initially Akshara was shown talking on phone to patient's relatives of sending them some music clips that will help the patient etc...But then they showed such pathetic song selection in the hospital and that too in the OT ...that was very foolish...Yes prayers are ok outside OT to clam the relatives and give mental strength..but not in OT and during acute care..

To me, music therapy has role in healing after treatment and definitely in reducing stress, anxiety..mental issues...whether doctors or patients both...

Hope this finds insightful 1%...😆...because I am young too and do not like to hear stories or news unnecessarily...These are things I noticed so far in my life..

People may have different experiences and opinions...

Wow lovely knowing... So someone like akshara is a big no in your doctor community

Doctors already have a lot of their own issues so having a crybaby like akshara as their wife...i don't think they'd want that

Yes for famous surgeon like Abhimaniyu Birla - Akshara Goenka is big NOOO

Aarohi would have fit with him..(doctor profession i am talking not Aarohi as a person)

But it's Abhimaniyu's personal choice due to his own likes and reasons, he chose Akshara

I know one Canadian Surgeon where I was practicing ...his wife is music teacher/singer

But why do doctors like to marry only doctors ? 🤔 is it bec they understand each others erratic schedules or they are intellectually qualified or it's the wish to have their own self sustained clinics/nursing homes where they don't have to hire an outside doctor (like the birlas) ..I'd like to know..

in other professions , like acting..some actors marry actresses but some of them insist on marrying someone outside the industry . A lawyer probably never marries a lawyer 😆

I see no issues between abhi and akshu unless the families play spoil sport which they will..but akshu being such a loving soul won't have any problems adjusting to abhimanyus line of work ?

Hi! Charu:

According to society, i said NOOO for AK...

It is Abhimaniyu's personal choice due to his craving of pure selfless love, healing his heart ...

In general, as I said in my above post same thread, doctors marry doctors because their thinking and understanding is of same level...I said this from what i have seen and based on their thinking in my friend circle..

When they open the clinic, both husband and wife are at same place so they can share some time with each other - for tea-coffee, in between patients ...lunch, dinner...they can maximize their time and sharing this way....

My friends clinic are designed this way in my town..Both of their offices are connected at other doors and they move back and forth often...I myself when I go, we chitchat and have 2 minutes of break of joy and happiness together...

The life is so easy they feel...they can go together, come back together...during day time they can see each other...they can manage their kids properly...they are very practical too in thinking and spending their life in future...

Yes, during medical college, where most of them get hooked to each other..i have seen them spending lot of time together in 3-4 years..going to movies every week, eating out together, drinking tea, studying in library together, meeting and talking outside hostel every night for few minutes...they get to know each other well too..

Because of the busy schedule, they cannot go outside campus to look for a girl...😆

Besides this i do not have more explanation...

I think thatz why ak is given this music therapy role...obviously abhi will come n see akshu in between his surgeries . Also they will ride together to the hospital.. also i think they will show link medicine n music therapy where abhi will help akshu grow in this department..we already saw abhi akshu eating lunch together in hospital.. so all the time they'll be together only..

I've heard many doctors say they don't want to marry doctors as the conversation would revolve only around that and they want to marry someone different nd fun loving.. as some doc believe it becomes very stressed all the time to play doctor doctor and especially when ur in same field it becomes about competition more like Anand mahima

Madhuri Dixit n Dr Nene are perfect pair.. even tho Madhuri Dixit is actress but she quit her work in us .

So i guess to each their own

Marrying into same profession is a choice and i think more than that it's important to marry a good person who will support u.. obviously some may feel there is better compatibility with someone who is there in their profession and that's perfectly fine..

I can give you my experience as a doctor - I'm the only doctor in my entire extended family who married a guy who is a third generation doctor - grandparents were surgeons, father is a radiologist, uncles and aunts are cardiologists and surgeons, mother was an OBGYN. When we started dating, one of the first things he told me about his family is that they are hella touchy about their profession. The thing is that when so many years of your life are devoted becoming something, and it becomes your entire life. Doctors start to earn late, they have erratic working hours, high pressure situations - it makes them possessive about their profession.

Thankfully, my in laws have never belittled my family or anybody else's - they have children who are engineers or designers etc etc. But they have a certain "extra" amount of respect for doctors.

My best friends's dad - an orthopedic surgeon would always start an argument if she would tell him that she didn't like surgery as a subject. Cue, a 45 minute lecture about surgery.

It's just the way a lot of people become because of their struggles.

Birlas, though, are stuck up on a different level. I even get Mahima's frustration with Akshu to a certain point - she has studied and toiled for years to become who she is and Akshu's achievements at such a young age with little formal training make her feel inferior which she hides under the guise of her superiority complex. It is but natural. And though I love that Akshu's profession is different to theirs, it would have been a fun alternate reality if she was a doctor but WAY different than Aarohi/Mahima/Anand etc - the life of a working female doctor who would also manage her household like Manjari. That is the reality of most female doctors in our country. The show has not shown a single female doctor who is also a good homemaker. The synopsis turns out to be that either be a doctor or be a housewife/any other profession.

As far as doctors getting married to other professions - most of my friends are married to doctors. I know of only two who married engineers. Many, like me, find their partners in medical school and the rest during their practice.
