it will be interesting because both are hyper protective of their mothers.

unlike the typical first wife/second wife fights, this drama looks like it is exploring a different dynamic where the two wives will generally get along as they understand each other's place and have a different vision. shehroz mom is not insecure and basically decided that the dad needs to get second married as she can't look at him. it makes me think that shehroz will really regret rejecting his dad and keeping him at a distance. the second marriage is happening precisely because she can't do much for him physically and knows her son will not do anything. as for zainab, she is very clear that she is only getting married to protect ushna and be in a position where they are not insulted on a daily basis. so none of the three parties are looking for romance or relationship -- rather it seems to be about companionship, security and safety.

since all three parents have a clear understanding of what they are looking for, they will get along. however, these two are going to misunderstand and see insult at all sorts of things and get mad. I think more than ushna, it will be shehroz who will be constantly instigating problems because he has a very problematic lens.

I hope this will be done well. last time, I watched a longer PK series (azmaish), I was so annoyed at how it developed that I had to stop watching these dramas for a while. I was that annoyed.

randomly browsing through youtube and found this -- liking it so far.

-- like that ushna is not the typical rona dhona. am so sick of those type characters. like that she gets mad and sees things as injustice and wants to yell at her relatives

-- loved that she turned down sufayan and was so logical about it. self-respect trumps any possibility of love and she was very realistic that she will never be accepted by her uncle and aunt and had no wish to be mistreated her whole life. bravo girl! smiley32smiley32smiley32 am so tired of these stupid girls getting married to their cousins and then weeping at the treatment.

She is a bold and blunt. That's the best thing.

-- loved that she was able to see that sufayan is just as selfish as his mother. when zainab asks why sufayan would fight with his parents when usana had turned him down, usana was so clear - that he does not care about anyone's feelings except his own just like his mom. 👏 so nice to see a level-headed girl who is able to see through and has no weird romantic lens.

Still i felt for sufyaan. Yes he is coward but he truly likes her.

-- actuallly enjoyed shahroz getting dumped by his fiance. she was absolutely right. he was coming across as a mama boy with a weird complex. and her father was right when he told the mother that shahroz doesn't need a companion but rather seemed to be looking for a nurse. even his parents realize that his obsession is a bit strange and he needs a life.

-- felt so bad for shahroz mother when she said the two oldies will take of each other and later when she realized that her disability meant she couldn't do much for her husband at all. it was really sad as you can feel how useless she feels and her decision to get him married makes more sense.

Her fiance did fabulous job. Isky saath yehi hona chaiye tha. He is such a rude person.

-- so far liked shahroz-ushna interactions. he is very egoistic and rude and she seems to be one of the few who tells him to take a hike. (which just flabberghasts him as very few put him in place).

-- sufayan's mother suggests that zainab's story of the adoption may be weird. makes me wonder if there is a bigger birth secret behind ushna. maybe it is more scandalous???

-- step-siblings turning to be spouses is kind of strange but I guess it is less because they are meeting as adults (and did not grow up together) and it is not like he is hitting on her while she is saying no. instead from the promos, it looks like they get paired together by the parents even though they may not be for it.

They are not step siblings as ushna is not real daughter of zainab..

kekeke... it is because of subs! ary channel is better with providing subs. I can watch without subs but I don't get 100%. there are many scenes where I have no idea what is being said. since urdu serials are so dialogue heavy, it helps if you have subs translate those words I don't know.

yea, I am looking forward to ushna and shehroz finding out they are related 😊

this is one of those weird grainy areas.

zainab's brothers keep arguing, ushna is not her real daughter and therefore, does not need any inheritance. I find that odd -- don't adopted chidren have legal rights? is it because ushna was not adopted legally? it does seem like some backdoor adoption that was never socially revealed? because zainab's brothers keep going on about bloodline, perhaps they assume that she is illegitimate or some dicey section of society??

anyway, zainab considers her real daughter as she raised her and is protective of her. this is a real mother daughter relationship and it is not going to change even after ushna finds out she was adopted. it is not like she will stop loving the father she lost or move away from zainab. so whether adopted or real, ultimately, it is about the ties we build right? in this case, there are genuine ties of love built upon from years of care that will not change regardless of the lack of blood ties.

if zainab considers her as real daughter, then in some ways, they are step siblings. but to remove ickiness any viewers might have, they can also assure themselves that she is not biologically related to zainab and so in some sense an outsider. therefore, okay for shehroz and ushna to get married?... like I said, this is weird grainy area that we just have to take as viewers. 🤷

You are right. It is forbidden to give them the family name of adopted parents. But many muslim families don't follow these rules currently.

Ahh I didn’t realize tht issue yes. The subs thing can be a deal breaker at times. Curious, are you from India? If so, which state if you don’t mind me asking. As someone whose first language is not urdu I do struggle on rare occasions but I’m able to understand based on context clues. I personally grew up in Kanpur in UP. So, it was mostly all hindi I knew but being a Muslim family I knew some urdu. Pakistani urdu is a little different though.
