Krishna's Silent Watch
Following the brutal fighting on the thirteenth day of the war, Arjuna spent the entire night weeping over the death of his young son Abhimanyu. Overwhelmed by grief, Arjuna swore a desperate oath to slay Jayadratha before sunset the folling day or surrender his own life to fire.
Exhausted by intense of sorrow and the weight of his impossible vow, Arjuna finally collapsed into sleep late in the night. Rather than resting himself, Krishna remained standing beside Arjuna's bed throughout the dark hours. He quietly tended to Arjuna, adjusting his blankets and guarding his rest to ensure no enemy stealth attack or disturbance interrupted his sleep. As dawn approached, Krishna gently placed his hand on Arjuna's forehead to wake him, ensuring his mind was calm, clear and fully prepared for the perilous day ahead.
