Cooked marrow and toasted bread from Blue River Steakhouse in Brooklyn. Steak tartar from same place.

Shrimp dumplings from Chinatown

Steak from Peter Luger's (I went a couple of times as a guest 😅. Can't afford it on my own)

Ooh... Lebanese lamb kibbe.

Anything from the old Malaya Restaurant in Ernakulam

Porotta and Chilli Chicken from Sony restaurant in Ernakulam. They're also closed now I think.

The vegetarian sadya from Hotel Periyar (near Aluva River)

The beef biriyani from any Indian Coffee House in Kerala

Actually, too many to write 😅. And I'm now super hungry.

Mutton Biryani is heavenly. Nothing can beat it. Also bar b Que platter is something i can never get bored of. Fish/Mutton/Prawn/Chicken Tikka’s with garlic naan Ahhhhhh☺️

I racked my brain and couldn’t come up with anything. I guess I really don’t care about food that much. I mean if it’s there I’ll eat it but no cravings as such

There’s another place with momos to die for but it’s super unhealthy n I try not to indulge much.

I’m not a fan of tikka masala, korma, etc that every desi restaurant tends to mix with their curry items.

But I like South Indian stuff like masala dosa with the sambar and coconut chutney!

there’s a bunch of other stuff like tacos, salad bowls, etc. that are just easy go to stuff for lunch.

The food sucks where I live though. everything tastes 1000 times yummier in India, I’m sure. I think the only two cities where desi food doesn’t suck are NYC and London.

check out haandi in london. One of my favs whenever i am there. Another place is in mayfair. Dubai also has a lot of good fare as do many places in nyc.

btw as a northie, i love idli dosas also. Just cant eat it every day though.... just because it would be too heavy. Ditto with mutton if it's well made.

ps- i notice sambar tastes differently depending where one eats. Wonder if thats regional differences dwn south. Saravna bhawan is great imo.
