Uss waqt mai class 5th mai thi...mai teachers ki fav rahi huu aur school topper bhi thi uss time..to mere ek teacher jo mere papa ke bahut acche friend the vo uss time ramdevra gaye the... Randevra humare yaha ka ek bahut famous holy mandir hai..vaha se usually log mala lekar aate hai....to vaha se vo mere liye bhi mala le aaye moti wali..jo vo apne ghar mai sabke liye laaye the.....par galti yaha hui ki vo mala unhone apne bete ke haathon mere paas bheji.... Jo uss waqt mera classmate tha.. Bas fir kya tha...mere friends ne puri baat jaane bina ye baat faila di ki vo mere liye mala laaya hai..and something is going on...🤦‍♀️😪🤣🤣🤣

Bina baat ki itni baat bani.. Sabne mujhe tease karna shuru kar diya uska naam lekar....and mai itna pagal ki mujhe abhi tak kuch samjh nahi aaya ki ho kya raha hai.. Mujhe to ye bhi nahi pata tha uss waqt ki ladke ladki ka naam aise joda jaata hai..🤦‍♀️🤣🤣🙈

Fir jab uss din mai ghar aayi papa ne mujhe bulaya aur pucha ki baat kya hai.. Mere papa ko pata tha ki mujhe ye sab chize na samjh aati hai aur na maine kuch kiya hoga...to unhone mujhse baat puchi ki kya hua.. Maine unko bola ki ye ye hua.. My dad used to think that I am good for nothing, burden, hard to find a match and I should consider myself lucky if anyone agreed to marry me. I was married off while I was still in college. Honestly, I am not that bad, nor am I that useless. Perhaps, it was just is perspective as a parent, I dont know. So, I do not think your situation is like mine. I do not wish it upon anyone.

Here is one of them from my college days. Just to put this in context, I am just a normal looking, plain Jane. I am hard core introvert, very reserved would never mix with guys at all. I still don’t know the names of half of them who were in my class.

In my 3rd year of Engg, one evening there was a small class party hosted at a restaurant. Not sure, what had gotten into me, I decided to sing a song on the stage. Back then did not have lyrics to search up on the phone, nor was there any bkgrnd music, I just had a mic. Again,nothing fancy, just a simple song.

The rest of the evening was uneventful. The following day, I got a 2-page love letter from a guy. He had written how much he loved me and wished to hear me sing this song …"na tum hame jaano… " (from a b/w movie of Dev Anand & Waheeda)

It is a beautiful song indeed, has both male & female versions. It was funny how he had written the lyrics of the opening stanza and the skipped to the last stanza… "mohabbat ke mod pe ham, mile sabko chodke ham….. " Overnight he has come to this "mod" without consulting me.🤣

That was the end of it. I tore the letter into pieces and trashed it.😆

Several years later, he resurfaced out of nowhere. It seems he found me on FB, linkedin. I had completely forgotten about that incident, which he promptly reminded. He would write several lengthy emails, some even included poetic lines like "chaand ka noor chaand ko thodi na hai…" something along those lines. ( come to think of it… I could use this line in a drabble now)😆 I am no chaand/noor like he says...🤔

Looking back, I find it immature & funny. Unknowingly, I often hum that song "na tum hume jaano…" during my daily routine and then remember this guy and pick another the song quickly.

I have now deactivated my FB acct, in fact cut myself off from most groups & SM. After posting this story, I might have to end my tenure at IF too?!! 🤔🤓
