Its very interesting to see the dynamics with in MM and NK's family. On Both sides the head of the family is a lady but how the kids have turned out to be is different . I guess the reason being NK is highly manipulative. She used her step son to get what she needs for her and her kids. To achieve this she has used her own kids and on their pretext she twists Ram emotionally for financial gain. The end result her own kids are of no good but Ram becomes the virtual backbone of the family
On the other hand MM is selfless therefore she discusses with her elder kids on how to face certain issues, takes their opinions to solve these issues . After Sara got married , it was Priya's turn to help her mom. She understood , the need to be strong to face the challenges and her mother allowed her to do so. I doubt if she had choice to live a normal childhood. ( Drunk Priya's conversation at the hotel clearly says this ) Here Priya becomes the virtual backbone
Both Ram and Priya are used to living for others. They did not think that there will be a day when they would want to live for themselves and hence never thought of enjoyment in their life. They kept mindlessly working hard and helping the family because they wanted to keep their mind busy. That was the only way to survive. But that didnt mean that they never had their dreams of having a life partner. I feel they have been yearning to have someone in their life who would think about them , fight for them and think abt their happiness . They want someone to be their support system and find happiness in helping them.
Ever since this feeling of belonging to each other has cropped in . Ram and Priya has started wanting to help each other so that the other person is happy and , in that happiness of their spouse , they are finding happiness. If you see every problem that Priya solved for Ram had a selfish need and same holds good with Ram. A selfish need to maintain a stress free peaceful life so that they can live /spend some lone moments with each other with out any past baggage. We see that transition in each other's character, the selfish need to be with each other and I am loving it.
