Naagin 6 Written Update 24th April 2022
The episode starts with Mahek announcing that the auspicious time has come for Shesh Naagin Pratha and Shesh Naag Yash’s wedding. Yash extends his hand for Pratha to hold while she reminisces about Rishab assuring her that she shall marry the person she actually loves. Pratha and Yash hold hands and a divine light emanates from Lord Shiva’s third eye, blessing the pair. They transform into their Shesh Naagin and Shesh Naag avatar and soon they’re surrounded by Naags and Naagins from all over the Naaglok to attend their ceremony - a union so rare that it only comes once in centuries. Their wedding rituals begin and Mahek asks them to put Naag Mukut/Crown on each other. Yash places the crown on her head but Pratha keeps thinking about Rishab and the moment she lied to him about loving Yash and how Rishab placed the maang-tikka on her forehead. Mahek reminds Pratha to place the crown on Yash’s head. Mahek tells them that it’s time for their pheras.
Pratha looks back and there stands Rishab - merely a hallucination. Rishab slowly walks up to her while Main Yahaan Hoon (Veer Zara) plays in the background and they begin taking pheras. Pratha doesn’t take her eyes off Rishab’s image for even one second and Rishab gently caresses her face. Once the pheras are done, Mahek asks Yash to fill Pratha’s maang with sindoor and complete the wedding rituals. Pratha hallucinates about Rishab lifting her maang-tikka up himself and then Yash puts the sindoor on her and suddenly she screams no.
Mahek’s voice brings Pratha out of her daydream and Pratha realizes that she’s been standing stock-still all this time and the pheras are yet to begin. Both Mahek and Yash tell her to start walking and finish the ritual. Pratha has no choice but to listen and they finally start their pheras. Her eyes brimmed with tears, she remembers her wedding with Rishab and how she saved him from fire. Pratha’s tears touch the ground and slowly ignite a fire. Mahek is horrified to see this and stops the pheras. She tells Pratha to stop crying because her tears are the cause behind the mandap catching fire. Yash says that he will deal with the fire and transform into his Shesh Naag avatar and consumes the fire himself. Once the fire stops, Pratha assures them that she wouldn’t be crying anymore and they should resume with the pheras but Yash immediately stops her.
Yash says that these aren’t just normal tears but tears of separation. Tears that are shed once in an eternity. Tears that were shed by Sati when she was separated from her Shiva. Yash says that Pratha’s body may be here but her heart is somewhere else. Yash looks into Pratha’s eyes to find who’s really in her heart and sees Rishab’s face. Yash realizes that Pratha is in love with Rishab and it’s not just an ordinary affection but a soulful bond. Divine love, that was between Shiva and Gauri. He notices how Pratha is still wearing Rishab’s mangalsutra on her wrist and how her forehead is already adorned with the bloody cut that Rishab gave her. She’s already married to Rishab in the truest sense then how can Yash take someone else’s place. Her heart belongs to someone else and Yash cannot force her to marry him. So he decides to free her because love is above any destiny or any plans of the universe.
Mahek says that the wedding of Shesh Naag and Shesh Naagin is what Naaglok’s tradition dictates and how can they go against destiny itself. Yash tells them that there is a way - Sacrifice. If Shesh Naag decides to sacrifice his love and practices complete celibacy or brahmacharya, then Shesh Naagin will be free from this union. Yash transforms into his Shesh Naag avatar and takes the oath of brahmacharya in front of Lord Shiva and promises not to marry anyone in his life. Pratha is grateful of his gesture and sincerely thanks him. Yash blesses her and allows her to return to Rishab.
Back in Gujral Mansion, Rehan’s wedding is taking place and Seema is heartbroken to see a gloomy Rishab sitting by all by himself on the stairs. She walks up to him and Urvashi interrupts them. Urvashi says that Rishab and Reem have loved each other for years and were always going to get married but couldn’t. So why can’t they get married now. Reem tells Seema that she’s willing to forget the past and get married to Rishab and move on. Rishab’s Chaachi also tries to convince Seema about their wedding and Rishab says that he’ll do whatever Seema wants. Seema agrees and puts the sehra on Rishab’s head.
Pratha arrives at the Gujral Mansion and gleefully runs inside. But she stops dead in her tracks when she sees Rishab and Reem sitting in the mandap together. She’s shocked to find that Rishab and Reem are about to be married and Ajeeb Daastan Hain Ye (Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai) plays in the background. Pratha remembers all those times when Rishab confessed about loving Reem in front of her and she crumbles to the ground.
Seema looks back and notices Pratha. Seema goes up to her and asks Pratha what she’s doing here since she’s the one who left Rishab for someone else and now Rishab is marrying Reem. Pratha admits that she shouldn’t have gone. Seema agrees and says that she has seen love in Pratha’s eyes for Rishab but Pratha still left, so why is she back now. Pratha says that she couldn’t go ahead with the wedding because she loves Rishab. Seema says that she understands but now Reem and Rishab are already... Pratha interrupts her and says that it’s okay, it’s Pratha’s fault after all because she’s the one who left, so how can she expect Rishab to wait for her. Pratha decides to leave since she can’t see the love of her life getting married to someone else. Seema refuses to let her go alone and decides to drop Pratha at the bus-stop herself. Pratha asks Seema for forgiveness and Seema blesses her that soon she’ll find the love of her life, the one she’s made for, the one who will gladly accept her.
Pratha finds Mahek at the bus-stop who asks her where she’s going. Pratha says that she wants to go away for a little while. She needs some space and some time for herself. Mahek asks her why she doesn’t go back to their Palace beyond the Neelgiri Mountains. They talk for a little bit and Pratha finally takes the bus. Pratha reminisces about her moments with Rishab, their wedding and their dance.
Someone sits beside her and asks if her heart has been broken. The man asks if he can help her in any way but Pratha says that he’s just a stranger to her and she doesn’t speak with strangers. The man says that sometimes talking to a complete stranger can prove to be very helpful. Pratha asks him what’s his name and he says that he’s called Farishta or Angel. Just like there are Icchadhari Naagins in stories, similarly there are Angels too. When someone feels that their story has come to an end, their story might take a totally different turn. Sometimes in the form of a doctor who saves lives, sometimes in the form of an employer who gives a job to those in need and sometimes through an actual Angel. A dejected Pratha refuses his help and he asks if she’s a Shiv-Bhakt. When she agrees he tells her that once Lord Shiva told him that when we feel like we have no one, there is God. Farishta hands over a book and tells her that she might find a new story inside.
Farishta flies away and meets the Shesh Naag. Yash asks him if the job is done. Farishta tells him that Shesh Naag’s Book/Kitaab is in Pratha’s hands now. Yash says that his story is over now and he can go back to his own life. Pratha will never come to know that she met an actual Angel. She might think that her mission is already over, but it’s just the beginning. After the end of these 6 Asurs, there will be a 7th Asur whose arrival will herald a new beginning in Shesh Naagin’s journey.
Pratha goes through Shesh Naag ki Kitaab. The 1st page is titled bhavishya/future. The author writes that one day he asked Lord Shiva if there will come a time when a disaster might befall on their land. Lord Shiva says that one day traitors will come to destroy this land. Then the universe itself shall choose their Shesh Naagin who shall come to end those Asurs and avenge her land. There might be a moment when she feels her job is done but it shall be a new beginning. She turns to find that Farishta who was sitting beside her has disappeared. She reads on to find that after the end of these 6 Asurs, there shall be a 7th Asur whose arrival will herald this new beginning in Shesh Naagin’s mission. That Maha Asur shall be the one who has been in front of Shesh Naagin’s eyes all this time, one who’s going to harm the love of her life. Pratha remembers the attacks on Rishab’s life and how her father categorically said that he never tried to harm Rishab. Pratha decides to return to Rishab and vows that she shall not let any harm befall him.
Back in Gujral Mansion, Seema and the entire Gujral family is shocked to see that Pratha has come back. Seema asks her about her return and Pratha says that she must speak with Rishab right now. Seema tells her that Rishab and Reem’s wedding has already taken place. Just then Rishab arrives with Reem but it turns out that Ritesh has married Reem instead. Rishab tells everyone how he could not go ahead with this wedding but he also did not want to leave Reem at the altar again. It would’ve been unjust to Reem if he went along with the rituals unwillingly. She deserves a happy married life too and Rishab can’t give her that life but Ritesh can. Reem agreed to marry Ritesh as well since she wishes to move on in her life.
Rishab tells everyone that he cannot marry anyone else and just then his eyes fall on Pratha standing patiently at the back while Humesha Tumko Chaaha (Devdas) plays in the background. He goes up to her and gently cups her face. He asks her if she married Yash and she denies. Rishab smiles and says that he knew she wouldn’t be able to do it. She says that even he couldn’t marry someone else and he shakes his head. They share an eye-lock and Rishab takes her upstairs.
Pratha confesses that she just couldn’t stay away from Rishab and Rishab says that neither could he. They have a moment but right when he’s about to kiss Pratha, she playfully pushes him and runs away. After sometime when she comes outside of the bathroom, she’s surprised to see that their entire room is decorated with flowers and candles. Rishab bends on one knee and asks her for a dance. They slow dance on Hasi Bann Gaye (Humari Adhuri Kahani). Rishab gently makes her wear the mangalsutra again and puts sindoor in her maang. They stare at each other lovingly but all of a sudden a dart comes out of nowhere and hits Rishab in the neck and he faints. Pratha is horrified to see Rishab’s condition and desperately tries to wake him up. Pratha remembers the prophecy she read in Shesh Naag ki Kitaab about the 7th Asur, one who shall try to harm the love of her life and the episode ends.
