Yup, I thought the nepotism kid did better. Whose dad I don't like !
Sid did it better right down to being short of breath because of high altitude and having just succeeded at the mission. Abhishek’s feels more like acting in the moment and is missing some nuance. But that’s more on JP Dutta. LOC was about the entire war and Batra’s story was a small part of it. Shershaah has the entire focus on Vikram Batra.
Abhishek is a very good actor. But comparing the two performances, as unfair as that may seem, Sid’s is better.

I remember Abhishek’s entire performance very well! He was much more expressive. I still find Sid very wooden.
But to each it’s own!

Any case even in that one scene! Compare the way both say “Yeh Dil Mange More.” Vikram Bhatra was known as a charming upbeat guy. Who made you feel the passion of the victory more ? Who just looked wooden.

I feel Sid’s passion more. I see his passion and words as more realistic because he looks and sounds like he’s on a battlefield. Abhishek looks like he’s hanging out with his friends. Again, that’s on the filmmaker. I’m not necessarily criticizing Abhishek’s acting.
Vikram Batra was a very upbeat guy, but there’s no indication that he screamed his victory code. Shershaah’s script writer has spent a lot of time with his family and other soldiers from his platoon. It’s safe to say Shershah’s portrayals are closer to how it happened.
