Gujarat's success thus far is a telling reminder that this format is more about players doing their roles than having big names in the mix.

Not that they are devoid of superstars - their captain himself is one for the gallery - but on paper, they aren't the most intimidating of line-ups.

Yet, they have gelled well as a unit with the local talents upping their game beautifully. The bowling though, is what Gujarat's strength is, as they have a rounded attack to threaten most sides.

Kolkata meanwhile, having some issues to ponder in that department, and while their batting has some serious firepower in their, they would need to plug the the other holes to go deep in the tournament. Currently on a three-match losing streak, Iyer's men desperately need a win today as losing could become an incurable disease if not nipped in the bud.
