Ak having to babysit a sister just two years younger and almost parent her is in itself really sad. I think she took on the role to some degree partly because of the guilt she felt for robbing Arohi of a mother. And the great Goenkas let her, they allowed it.

When Kairav told the story to Abhi I don't know if it is implied in the flashback that the promised was also mentioned. The only thing Kairav stated was he was not there but this is what he knew about that day. Abhi just understood there was great guilt that Akshara was dealing with.

The problem with Akshara is she should have been stricter with Arohi but since she has a soft heart and guilt she probably never could do that. Arohi knew it and took advantage of it. But also why was Akshara left to seemingly care for Arohi?

Sirat made her promise while she was dying to take care of arohi throughout and thats wht she has been doing. Why sirat never took promise from her brat daugher to listen to her elder sister or respect her for that matter. Goenkas 🤬🤬, they got the reality check but it wass still less, If I would have been in place of abhi I would have banned all the goenkas and birlas and go for court marriage instead.
